A simple question with a difficult answer.

Dave Meltzer gave his expert prediction on the subject - he will lose his titles. Eventually. Fucking amazing Dave.
It's a difficult pick. There's a tone of money to made in milking the longevity of the title reign as long as possible. Arguably Roman is the best thing in wrestling and a massive part of that has been in how he has been booked.
I would like GUNTHER to take it, but I doubt GUNTHER can follow in Reigns footsteps. I say GUNTHER, due to his size and power and he's very much a viable threat to almost everyone in WWE. Sami Zayn would be amazing, for that one night... in Canada - the pop would be incredible, and if they followed with his original WWE music for the sing-a-long, it would be an all time great moment in WWE history. But Sami isn't a long-term champion.
Brock would be Vince's pick, and likely a very high contender to take the titles. I personally hate this option. As apart from the BIG PLE, he's not around.
Wyatt is already DOA. And he's seems more interested in bullshit goofball character work.
Bobby and Drew, has been done to death over the last few years. Bobby is a mid-carder who I largely believe was in the right-place at the right-time and Drew is a better chaser than Champion IMO.
Personally... there's two options. Cody is likely the sentimental choice and after his WM return and HITC match - he's likely on the right trajectory to be WWE Champion. And America being America, you'd safe the win for July 2023 for the RA-RA- USA / Independence Day type jerk-off moment. And the other option is, you build Theory into the next Cena. He's twice the worker Cena was, he's charismatic, looks great.... we've discussed Theory in great detail - he's the future.

I kinda hope nobody defeats Roman Reigns. Imagine if he truly does wreck everybody & leaves.

I don't think he'll actually lose it in the traditional sense.
I'm sure WWE has big plans for his title run ending, but big plans can often go wrong and I think they will.
My guess is that he'll get injured, it will need surgery and he'll be out for like...a year or something. He won't be able to appear on TV at all, so they'll have to take the belts off him (even if it's because of demands from the networks).
Then for years and years, annoying YouTubers will be making long "WHAT IF?!" videos about who should have beat him.

No way WWE puts the title on someone with a ugly neck tat that looks like they now came from the trailer park.
I predict next year Randy Orton will be the one to do it. From what I am told by a very reliable source is the company wants Randy Orton to break the Flairs record.

Same source tells me Randy is looking to make it a one last hoorah go-out-with-a-bang retirement run.

Wouldn't he have to win the belt like 10x to break it?

I know WWE controls the narrative but isn't the record in the 20s? They don't have a good track record with Randy and ending stats. They tried it with Brock only they did the wrong belt lol.

Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens made for the Rumble.
As good as that match will be, we all know who is winning.
Question for the group: who the fuck is going to beat Roman?

Sami beats Roman Reigns ala Mick Foley winning the title on RAW.
The Bloodline turns on Sami, he returns a babyface a few weeks later, cocky Roman Reigns puts the titles on the line against Sami as a laugh. The Brutes/McIntyre run interference brawling with The Bloodline. KO enters.. Stunner to Reigns and then drags a lifeless Sami Zayn over Reigns for the win.
Do it in Montreal and it will be the moment of the year.
Cap it off with KO and Sami reconciling and hugging it out and there won't be a dry eye in the building.

I think it’ll be Cody; but that they’re missing an opportunity if it’s anyone but Sami.

Only if Sami immediately powerbombs KO on the apron after.

I know I’m in the minority with this, but there just seems something a little…sucky about the idea of the most dominant champion in literally decades losing his title to a guy who’s been a complete loser for years and years, but has been funny for a few months 😅
I’ve always liked Sami, but him beating Roman of all people just seems so wild to me. I know it’ll get a big pop or whatever, but it just feels like if Tommy Dreamer beat HHH in 2002-3.

The answer to the question is Charlotte Flair.
Seriously though - Seth, Drew and Randy are my top picks. Cody winning this year would be too soon, they can get a lot of mileage of out his world title chase.
