Another special teams error by the Patriots, stupid running into the kicker putting the Vikings back on the field. I think that will end up being a major turning point.

Edit: Yep turns into a TD. Jefferson is so good at finding the hole between the corner and the safety.

Woah a big botch all the way around there. Refs miss two fouls against the Vikings defence on third down, and then the Patriots punt (very badly) instead of going for it on 4th and 1 down 7 with 8 minutes to play.

Feeling a little better now knowing NE is back in last place of the division and NYJ is the 7th seed. That's a decent night.

Jets gotta bring their A game next Sunday vs MIN though. Sauce Gardner might not be ready for Justin Jefferson.

Fun game! Patriots were a lot more pass-explosive tonight than they've been all season but they just made way too many mistakes. Basically a 14 point swing on special teams, and Hunter Henry couldn't quite hold on to that ball at the goal line. Minnesota wasn't perfect but their trio of Jefferson/Thielen/Hockenson was enough. Wild that they can clinch the division next week, no one would have ever predicted that.

Kirk Cousins saying he might go get himself a grill similar to Joe Burrow is glorious, I really hope Deshaun Watson's yes man Quincy Avery posts about it.

Yes, if you want to get fired.   I don't care what year it is field position and situation still matters.   We were only down by ONE point, and we were in our own territory.   You go for it in that situation IF you have an elite defense that can defend a short field.  Our defense can't do that. We're not a dominant team, we're a team that fight, scratches, and claws for every inch.   Better to punt and make the Cowboys earn it, not give them a short field and confidence.

The advantage of potentially keeping possession on a play you would expect to hit the majority of the time, in a close game, definitely outweighs 30ish yards of field position, especially when the opponents offence is definitely superior to your defence.
