Pittman might score a tuddy finally and Ekeler knows what time it is. He knows it’s the semi finals in fantasy football. He’s putting on a fantasy clinic tonight. thanks, not really what I wanted to hear, but what I expected. Playing against them both in our super bowl. Did you win?

JJ Watt deserves a spot in the Houston Texan Mt Rushmore and should be the 1st Texan ever in the Pro Football HOF. Maybe he goes in as an Arizona Cardinal Neo Zeed . Maybe Hopkins talks him into it.

Andre Johnson was the definitive Texan and should be clear cut first Texan to go into the Hall. 193 games played vs 149 games played by JJ, Andre was elite receiver in the NFL for a good 5 solid seasons(2 of those he was THE best receiver in the NFL, with statistics to back it up), then had 3 other really really good years. JJ had 3 years as an elite pass rusher, and then 2 really good years. I don't think any of those 3 years did he ever lead the NFL in any stats like Andre did in 2008-2009. Also when Andre retired he was in the top 7-8 all time receivers, I don't believe JJ Watt is even in the top 20 all time defensive ends. JJ in 2014 was the greatest players I ever seen for 1 year, but for me seeing all 21 years of Texans football the moments where Andre carried the team on his back far outweigh the moments where JJ carried the team on his back, and Andre did it in a lot of years where he had no support while JJ had some solid supporting cast in there a few years when Wade was DC, that was a pretty good defense he jumped into his rookie year. JJ needed another solid 3 years to come close to Andre Johnson as the all time great Texan thats coming from somebody that's been keyed in on this team since 2002. JJ is the mainstream pop culture guy that got over sure but Andre put in waaaaay more work for this team, just half of his career happened when the team he played for didn't really exist so it's understandable that people would be ignorant about this whole subject, you missed a lot. Even a lot of Texans fans today would say JJ is the best Texan but truth is I'd say likek 75-80% of Texans fans today didn't start watching/keeping up with them until 2009-2012 era.

I think part of JJ Watt's lore is how charitable he is and how good he was to Houston during Hurricane Harvey. I think Andre Johnson was very good too but Watt was otherworldly when it came to this stuff. Had no real allegiance to the city either.

Great post, but one thing that seems questionable is JJ not being in the top 20 all time defensive ends? That seems an exaggeration. He might be 26th all-time in sacks, but he’s second all-time in tackles for loss and has as many DPOY awards as LT and Donald. I would also say that cumulative stats aren’t everything and his peak has to be accounted for, which was absolutely insane. That four year peak where he won all his DPOY awards and recorded 69 sacks, and that ridiculous 2014 season as a whole, has to put him top ten.

It’s tough to say, I do love your opinion because to me JJ in 2014 was better than I ever seen Bruce Smith or Reggie White play and Watt never had a Jerome Brown or Clyde Simmons or Sean Jones or Cornelius Bennett or Darryl Talley borderline HOF support. But overall body of work there are a lot of guys(15-19) in NFL history I just couldn’t put Watt over because of the injuries.

Best Texan is maybe a different argument (although even then I think JJ's charity work puts him in another tier). Still, Watt is more of a HOF lock than Andre Johnson. 5 first-team all-pros put him tied for second all-time among DEs (the other six who have 5+ are already in). In contrast, Johnson only has two all-pro selections, and the list of guys at WR waiting to get in is much longer; Fitz, Julio, Reggie Wayne, Torry Holt, Steve Smith. Had I started New England over SF or Baker Mayfield over Rodgers I would have won this week. -_- To be fair I had Dak and Lamb on the bench. Ekeler definitely had me worried for a minute there on Monday night though.
