As far as new games go, February is a pretty big month for me. As much as I’m looking forward to the Octopath Traveler sequel, the game I’m most excited about is Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe.

I will be playing Spongebob Squarepants for probably the 1st week of FEB but this month it's all about Atomic Heart which I spoke highly about in the past. It's XBOX Game pass Day 1 which means I am so in, will be playing it on the XBOX Series X. Not even a huge FPS guy but everything looks so damn good, I just hope the game doesn't suffer from being a product of a brand new studio("Indie Jank").

Hogwarts Legacy is a big maybe. I am not on the fence about it due to it being a thing about Trans rights(Due to JK Rowling) but the $70 dollar price tag is a huge ask. Have so much in my backlog, could wait for a price dip if need be. 



I really hope the combat and gunplay aren't as iffy as it looks, that might be the thing that holds it back because the atmosphere, the music, the enemies look top notch. 

I was shocked to see Hogwart's Legacy on the list, I've had the PS4 date in my mind the past few weeks. I'm very curious to see how it pans out, all the discussion has largely been about JK's politics and I've barely heard anything about the game. The idea of a RPG set in the HP universe sounds amazing and partially nostalgic too since the early HP games were enjoyable for their time. Never played a LEGO game let alone the HP LEGO game but I'd have to imagine that's the comparison right there.

What's the crack on Return To Dream Land? Isn't it just a remake of the Wii game? What upgrades has it made?

From all reports the Tales of Symphonia release is just a port of the 2014 release minus the sequel. They're asking for full RRP when you can find the game for less than $10 on Steam when it goes on sale (which is often). Symphonia is one of my favourite games of all-time, so I'm curious if this version changes anything - even a way to skip the story would be huge since it's a game that requires multiple playthroughs to 100%.

What gives me a little hope with Hogwarts Legacy is Avalanche(Just Cause series and Mad Max) are behind this game and I thought Mad Max despite falling into some open world bad tendencies(Grindy side content), was a pretty good game. That's easily one of the best selling points of the game. I just need to see a little more. I totally respect people not wanting anything to do with the game due to JK Rowling and her mouth though given it's her property. I can separate the art from the artist but I get people who can't. 

Odd decision to make the Horizon DLC PS5 only after Horizon Forbidden West was on both systems. I have yet to finish Horizon: Forbidden West which is why I omitted the DLC. Might be something I buy down the road if on sale. This must mean the DLC is really good looking to be a current gen exclusive.

The real dark horse of conversation this month is the release of the PS VR 2 system. The asking price is ridiculous for it($549.99, more than a PS5 system itself) and that's without any games. It too has a Horizon VR experience so it becomes odd that they are double dipping with this franchise with 2 games in a month. I've never been a VR person and I think it will probably give me motion sickness in all likelihood but it's a substantial drop in the gaming universe. You either get Virtual Reality or you don't.

The Wife is a huge Harry Potter fan, so naturally, she wants to play it, she originally wanted to get it for the Switch, however, I told her that she can play it on my PS4 (although if I get a PS5 during tax season, it might be better getting it for that).

Horizon: Call of the Mountain is PS VR game that's coming out launch day with the PS VR 2. Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Sands is coming out in April so Guerilla/Sony aren't burning this IP to the ground.

Been waiting forever for Ishin to finally hit stateside, even better that it's a remake and not a remaster, so that's my #1 for the month, especially with Yakuza going turn based. Probably going to continue calling it Yakuza, just because it takes less to type than Like a Dragon.


Also be checking Atomic Heart, Hogwarts, and Wanted: Dead (in that order for interest).

Damn Hogwarts Legacy did it.

Sweet, the HP universe deserved another quality entry and even though I expect there to be some fallback atleast it's not DOA.

I will get Hogwart's on sale in the future. Looks fun, but do not want to support JKR since she says the success of the game shows people agree with her views.

I likely will grab Blood Bowl for my Steam Deck when it all the DLC is out.

Trailer people who never seen it.  League mode is so brutal since you can straight out kill other team's star players.

Just dawned upon me that it's another Avalanche studio made Hogwarts, this is actually impressive. :lol: Just found this out now.

So the Disney Infinity people hey? Fair to say they've come a long way since Rugrats in Paris.

Did anyone play DBZ Sagas? That was their first attempt at making an Action RPG of a beloved franchise but didn't make it out of the US.

You can add, Metroid Prime Remastered to the list of February releases that I want to get. Comes out two days before the other three games I want to get, I'm def gonna have to get one or two of them in the first week of March.
