HUGE BREAKING NEWS - WWE SOLD



Months of speculation and rumour look to have come to an end today, the question on IF WWE will be sold, and will Mr. McMahon finally relinquish control of the company finally has an answer. WWE have released a somewhat-short statement to confirm that indeed WWE has been sold, to an at-this-time unknown name, being listed in the statement as a 'preferred bidder'. In time surely the identity of the new owner or owners of WWE will be revealed in due course.

Following extensive discussions between interested parties over the purchase of WWE, this evening we can confirm that a sale has been 'agreed in principle' of the company. The sale will be ratified and confirmed, after following the correct protocol. We'd like to thank all interested parties for their time and patience during the whole process, now we turn our attention to the 'preferred bidder'. They'll travel to WWE HQ, and speak to the relevant channels to ensure a smooth transition, with minimal disruption.  

Speculation is rife already with whom the preferred bidder is, with either The Khan Family or The Saudi Public Investment Fund being touted as the winner of the bid for the company.  We will have more news on this spectacular news as it develops.

Talk is Jericho - Special Guest: AEW President Tony Khan



Chris Jericho recently released his latest episode of 'Talk is Jericho' with the guest this time being AEW President Tony Khan, and Jericho pressed his boss on a matter that is close to the hearts of many in the wrestling world. Below is a little extract of the pod...

CJ - "Now Tony, I know there's an elephant in the room, I feel the need to ask this, not only for myself, but for all those in the wrestling world. We have seen recently that WWE have confirmed a sale, they've said to a preferred bidder, but haven't named that bidder....are you that preferred bidder they're hinting at?"


TK - "That is the multi-million dollar, well multi-billion question everyone is asking, and only a select few have the answer for. All I can say on the matter is that certain paperwork is in place for times like this, for any company in the world going through a sale, a NDA. My father and I had one in place when we purchased Fulham Football Club, the English soccer side years ago. Its to not only cover the bidder/buyer, but the business itself"


CJ - "So, do YOU have that NDA in place for the purchase of WWE, our quote unquote rival?"


TK - "Chris, did you not listen to what I said? A NDA is in place, and even if it were the scenario you're trying to hint at, I couldn't go into the specifics of a deal, or even say yes..due to the NDA. What I can say is that WWE is an interesting product, and anyone who has been the named the ideal person they want to buy the company, they've got something huge on their hands. Something paramount.....and"


CJ - "Listen that's great, I understand I can't press too much on the matter, I'm just like many other people at the moment, heck even some people inside WWE themselves, we're looking from the outside inwards. Whatever the case is, if it is yourself....or the rumoured Saudis buying the company, let's hope that they've got a brain for the business, and can give the fans of that company the best product they can offer"


TK - "Yeah, that's all we hope for as fans of the business don't we, someone who cares for the product, and has the best interests of all at heart"

WWE is set to hold a LIVE press conference tomorrow, in which the identity or identities of the preferred bidder/s will be revealed to the world.

PIF announced as 'preferred bidder'

The cat is out of the bag, we all knew WWE were sold to an unknown 'preferred bidder', but now the identity of that bidder has been revealed, and it is the controversial Saudi backed takeover that has won the bid. The Saudi Public Investment Fund have won control of WWE, rumoured to have had a bid of $5 billion dollars accepted, which is merely a drop in the ocean as they're worth an estimated $620 billion.


One talent of WWE has already expressed their anger, dismay and possibly their 'quitting' of the company, with the news of this takeover.

WWE held a short press conference today to confirm the sale of the company to the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). 

- WWE Press Conference - 

After much speculation within the sporting world, and media in the last few weeks, WWE would like to formally announce the sale of the company to the Saudi Public Investment Fund, WWE & Saudi Arabia have had a 'working relationship' for some time, and felt that this was the correct step to take in the advancement of the relationship. We feel that what the Saudi Public Investment Fund can offer WWE financially, will enable WWE to reach heights that no-one would have ever thought of before, and in turn purchasing WWE can help Saudi Arabia strengthen relationships with companies, businesses and countries the world over. WWE joins a vast array ventures of the Saudi Public Investment Fund have dipped their fingers into recently, LIV Golf & English Premier League Soccer team Newcastle United are great examples of what good investment can do. 


The new owners of WWE will travel to the United States within the week, they will speak with the relevant board members to thrash out their vision for the company, and that is before WWE travel to Saudi Arabia, as we return to the Middle East for WWE: Saudi Showdown. Where WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defends his championship against Seth Rollins, and more will be announced for the event in due course.

- Following the much criticised Saudi Arabian backed takeover of WWE, there has been speculation on who would leave the organisation, if, and in this case it is true, the takeover happened. WWE have today confirmed that Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Sonya Deville have left the company with a mutual agreement. It is worth noting that Sami Zayn has always been vocal of the company's relationship with Saudi Arabia, and has refused to travel to the Middle East events in the past, whereas Kevin Owens where he hasn't been as vocal as Zayn, he didn't travel out of respect for his friend, and has done the same here, leaving the company.  


- On the latest episode of 'The Bump' it was confirmed that the currently vacant WWE Tag Team Championship will have a tournament, that starts on this up-coming episode of Smackdown, and will have the final at the Saudi Showdown event next week. Semi-Final 1 will take place on Smackdown where The Viking Raiders take on Hit Row, where as Semi-Final 2 takes place on Raw, where The Street Profits take on Alpha Academy.

Jon Moxley leaves AEW, is he WWE Bound?



- Huge Breaking news this evening, as AEW have announced that Jon Moxley has left the organisation after it was speculated that Moxley no-showed a recent episode of Dynamite. AEW released a statement, and it was a short one confirming the news.

- AEW & Moxley part ways - 

All Elite Wrestling can today confirm that Jon Moxley has left the company, both parties tried their hardest to come to a conclusion that would benefit both parties but that conclusion never came. We both then decided it was best to part ways. We all extend our thanks, and gratitude to Jon for his time here in AEW, and how he carried himself and the company both in and out of the public eye. 

Due to the nature of the agreement, Jon Moxley is not under a 'no-compete' clause.

- There has been speculation that Moxley could be returning to WWE, as soon as tonight's Smackdown, although more than likely an appearance at Saudi Showdown is more likely to happen. We'll have more on this as it happens.

- Roman Reigns Return - 

Roman Reigns will return to WWE after a long hiatus, following his WrestleMania loss to Cody Rhodes, in which he lost both of his championships to 'The American Nightmare'. Reigns immediately took a leave of absence from the company, saying he would not be forced to feel humiliated in the aftermath of such a historic loss. Many will speculate he has Cody in his sights, in a bid to recapture his titles, whilst others will say he'll come back a changed man. Whatever happens, be sure not to miss Saudi Showdown, as that is the place where 'The Tribal Chief' makes his long-awaited return.
