NXT talent will be allowed to work approved indy feds moving forward. I assume this means people on NXT contracts and not like New Day, but still a pretty big move.
Another sign that WWE may be opening up to having talent exchanges following lending people to Japan from the main roster.

So basically NXT talent being allowed to work for Booker's promotion? Brings up an interesting thought of what exactly are the indies in 2023. NXT took that ROH match quality niche while AEW feels like it's the mainstream version of WSX/PWG combined. Everything else feels less relevant. Hell the only reason that CZW successor was on my radar was because of viral shit on documentaries. Maybe that's all Regal's AEW run was about, just a chinese spy balloon for the "last" indy.
Like it makes ya wonder. Ima make a better thread brb

GCW is the big indy now. Prior to the name change they were Jersey Championship Wrestling, one of the feds that predated RoH and ran the Jersey J-Cup tournament.
This is kind of a big thing as we can get matches now with AEW people in feds like Evolve.

Why would you wrestle on the indies if you've been signed to the WWE?
I'm not risking injury wrestling some ass-clown in a piece of shit ring just to what.. appease some dweebs who might be vaguely interested in my match? Take a look at Moxley, he goes out and runs the gauntlet in the G1 and hurts himself, and then he can't work for his primary employer - and these are professionals at an apparent, some-what high level.

And HBK slams the door closed saying it was a one off deal to let a single NXT person work a single show.

On the flip side, when you are training people they need matches in front of crowd, and sending them to work for people with WWE associations that also run feds, like Booker, gets them that. Also you can pay people less with the promise they can make more working extra dates elsewhere. But fairly moot either way as I do not see NXT being kept when WWE is bought. Be like expecting a TV show to run an acting school to get future guest stars. I assume the fed and almost everyone in it is released post sale to massively cut costs.

Here we go again...
How well did a lack of development do for TNA? Or AEW for that matter?
And looking at that gate last night for Vengeance Day, NXT pulls it's own weight if given the opportunity.

AEW has developmental. Kidd Bandit came up through it. As did Julia and some others.
