It's that time of year again, Meowth that's right, it's time for a Pokémon Presents', or well on the 27th anyways.

What will we see this time around? Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are now a part of Nintendo Switch Online, will they announce the OG games coming to those apps? A DLC announcement for Scarlet and Violet (similar to Sword and Shield)? Will they finally show off Detective Pikachu 2, with a release date? How about a Pokken Tournament 2 announcement?

Honestly, who knows, but we'll find out soon enough.

I wouldn't be surprised if they shadow drop either Pokemon Stadium or Pokemon TCG during the event. What will be interesting is whether or not they release R/B/Y and how they release them. I would not be shocked at all if they charge 7.50 USD each but they'll have functionality via Stadium.

Otherwise like you I expect DLC info and it'll largely focus on the new area, returning Pokemon, the new legendaries/paradox Pokemon and maybe a returning feature like Megas.

They won't announce it during the trailers, but I just want some QOL features. A more convenient way to change tera types, a way to reset IVs to 0, a day care centre etc.

I keep hearing they'll release another Mystery Dungeon game. Have you played any of those before Lony? I can't say I've played any spin-off genre since Pokemon Puzzle League but those are some rainy day type games I wouldn't mind looking into.

Oh man, I completely forgot about the Pokemon Stadium games, yeah I can see that getting shadow-dropped during the Pokemon Presents presentation.

I've played Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, on the Nintendo Switch, it's the only Mystery Dungeon game I've played, anyways, I thought it was alright for what it was. Yea, I heard those rumours as well, about a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky remake coming to Nintendo Switch, I suppose I wouldn't mind that happening,

Agreed with the Pokemon Stadium 1 drop(It would be overkill to do this back to back, Pokemon Stadium 2 would be a 2nd half 2023 release), I wish GEN 1 would get a drop too but I know that overshadows the entire Gameboy catalog so would not surprise me if Nintendo charges for that. Pokemon TCG is a good shoutout too.

Curious if they drop a trailer for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet DLC, especially given the game is still trying to lick it's wounds from the performance fiasco it endured a few months ago upon release.

Ishihara greets us and he's sitting besides a CGI Pikachu. Ishihara reminds us that the event commemorates the release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan and how much the series has grown.

Ishihara passes it onto the head of Pokemon International who previews the 2023 Yokohama World Championships.

First video appears to be a TCG video with classic cards. It appears to be a format of the TCG with classic cards from the original Base set. It looks like they're selling this for a premium price whatever that means. It could be good but I can just see scalpers going crazy for it.

There appears to be a Netflix Pokemon series called Pokemon Concierge. It looks like it's going for a claymation style, Psyduck looked a lot like Pengu.

Looks like we're getting a Pokemon Sleep ad. Yeah we definitely are, finally they've released the app.

Now we're getting another ad for it, it essentially tracks your sleep like a fitbit.

New Pokemon Go+ Plus ad which also has functionality with sleep. Pokemon Sleep also has connectivity with Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet updates...

Trailer starts and we're in a Tera battle. It's the Paradox forms of Suicune and Virizion in Tera Raid battles. Walking Wake and Iron Leaves which are both Scarlet and Violet exclusive.

Scarlet/Violet will also connect with Go and they'll change the design of the butterfly monster. Gimmighoul and Gholdengo are also coming to Go.

Last video, it appears to be a Scarlet and Violet DLC. We've got actors dressed up, they're going to some market stall. Looks like a bunch of new monsters were introduced.

The legendary Pokemon sounded like Ogremon and Terrapagos.

There's a few returning monsters Vikavolt and Zebstrika appear to be the two big returning monsters.

So outside of the Scarlet/Violet news, it sounds rather lackluster to me.

I get the feeling that Pokemon Trading Card Classic set is going to be horribly over-priced. I would not be shocked if it's $300-500. Mind you I think it's going to be a collector's item so even if it was affordable, it'll sell out within minutes.

DLC was about what I expected. I'm surprised they're introducing the Paradox Pokemon before it, but it was just a quick rundown of the region and a couple of the new legendary Pokemon. It's nothing to get too hyped about but if they introduce some good QOL changes I'm in.

Disappointed with the lack of Red/Blue/Yellow information. I wouldn't write it off just yet but there's still a good chance those games won't have connectivity with Stadium. Hopefully when Nintendo unveils Stadium they also announce the release of those games. Again if they do go down that route I expect they'll charge for them individually instead of adding them to the subscription service.

That event stunk altogether, I expected tons of fluff but there was practically too much of it.

Pokemon Sleep might sound like a fun gimmick but besides that, there's nothing. It's a nice app for people trying to track sleep(I have a Galaxy Watch for that if I need that) but done in a fun way, good for children. If it's a free app, that is fine but anything besides that would be a pass.

The DLC look fine, not a fan of putting Paradox pokemon behind a TerraRaid. Enough of that gimmick. The new DLC pokemon look cool but I am curious the pricing on these DLC. I didn't mind the Sword/Shield DLC so I might be in for this.

No GBA/N64 Pokemon games is a disaster though. Should have shadowdropped Pokemon Stadium I at the very least.

Sword and Shield were $30, so that's not exactly good news. Especially for me since I intend to buy both versions.

I wouldn't call it a disaster, but it certainly made for an underwhelming presentation.

I think the biggest thing for me, was the lack of a new game, port or remake being announced for the Nintendo Switch. I dunno, it just seems kinda strange when you consider, there has been at least one console Pokémon game released every year on the system (not counting DLC).

World Championship takes place this weekend at Yokohama. There will be a tournament for Scarlet & Violet, Pokemon TCG, Pokemon Unite and Pokemon Go.

There is also going to be a Pokemon cartoon about a young girl joining a Pokemon club at a new school.

Scarlet & Violet anime is also coming soon

Scarlet & Violet trailer for Mewtwo & Mew raids which were leaked months ago. Mew is available through a password and the Mewtwo raids take place in September. Later this week there will be raids to help prepare for the Mewtwo raid.

Scarlet and Violet trailer for the DLC. They're going through all the details, the biggest news is the introduction of mochi that manipulates base stats (I presume IVs) making it easier to acquire 0 IV attackers and 0 IV speed Pokemon for trick room.

The trailer is just breaking down new trainers and new Pokemon. Applin and Duraidon have new evo forms, new rooms for you to decorate.

Part 1 will be released on September 13.

I'm satisfied with those announcements. All I really wanted was a release date for the DLC and some QOL additions. The only other thing we need is a way to make Tera Types easier to change because currently it takes way too much time to collect shards.

TCG coming out later today is nice as well. The only other announcement I would have loved is Gen I & II being available on Switch so you could use your own monsters in Stadium. However I think that's a pidedream and it's easier to emulate anyhow if you're that desperate.

EDIT: On second thought, I don't think the mochi actually fixes IVs. I think it just works on EVs so at best there's a more efficient way to clear them instead of relying on berries.

TCG coming out today is pretty good but I am shocked Pokemon GEN 1 isn't on the GBC library for the Switch, especially since Pokemon Stadium I and II rely on importing those teams over to succeed.

I am still not sure if I buy the DLC Day 1.

That is a rough day! I think MK1 is coming out SEPT 15 for early access and SEPT 19 so you get spared but yeah September looking nice.

Going to hope Starfield is legit and ride Game Pass for that one for the month. Sea of Stars if I jump in will be the bridge between late August and Starfield.
