Wasn't this how the awards were during Gabe's ROH run as well?

Interesting to see Danielson taking back the technical wrestling award that Zack had for the past 50 years.
Clearly fuel for the long overdue Zack vs Dragon best of 7 feud.

I'd argue Logan Paul is rookie of the year. His success rate match quality speaking is well beyond Bron.
Take Bron v Waller - it was painfully average, even for a cage match. Waller v Paul would steal any show it's on.

I'm not sure if you're aware of women's wrestling promoter Dave Prazak NATH45. I have tons of respect for him. You'd think I insulted him because I was ripping on uonkey Dave. This overprotective attitude many people in the newsletter community & IWC have about Corny & Dave is weird. You'd think that these guys are the only people in our world that are entitled to have an opinion. Bullshit.

Uncle Dave and Corny are all-or-nothing type guys and that's why they get either so much love or hate.
Dave is unashamedly favourable towards AEW these days that it screams of something fishing going on. He's either on the payroll or he's working so hard to be on it. He's probably hoping he gets on the books and gets a job sitting around talking AEW all day like those guys in WWE like Matt Camp, Papolla, Roberts, etc. If you drink TK's adderall laced Kool-Aid, you'd love Dave.
If you hate AEW, you'd love Jim Cornette. He's right to an extent on AEW. These guys are jokers, AEW can be mudshow outlaw bullshit, botchamania runs wild, a lot of the guys can't work or it's silly beyond repair. 18 months ago or more Jim was talking about AEW lacking the ability to grow, and they haven't. Less people are watching the product now than a year ago and there's an entire thread of the company's backstage dramas. His delivery is vicious, crude and often below the belt and that's what people focus on, despite how valid his points are.

Dave has actually been off AEW since Wrestlemania and has been highly critical of them since All Out. So much so he actually distanced himself from the awards and called into question his own subscriber's decision making to make TK the Booker/Promoter of the Year.
Dave has always liked a certain style of Pro Wrestling and since the show caters towards him naturally he's going to love the in-ring product. However Dave recognises that AEW lacks stars and the few times they've had an opportunity to push somebody as a top babyface (MJF, Wardlow) they've fumbled it. While he still loves the in-ring product he feels AEW lacks that Sami Zayn/Roman Reigns style of match fans want to see.
Mind you he's just as vocal if not moreso of the WWE. I didn't think there was anyone more heart-broken or in denial over Sami than you nath, but both Meltzer & Alvarez have tied themselves into the knots trying to explain how you could have had Sami win the title.
The thing with Cornette is that he's a 60-year old wrestling legend/fanatic and his take on Pro Wrestling is heavily skewed because of it. I don't even think he necessarily hates AEW but modern wrestling for a variety of reasons. However I don't think he has any solutions beyond trying to put the tooth paste back into the tube which he tried and it didn't revolutionise the industry.

Big Pete, sorry I don't understand the Sami mention. I think The Bloodline/Sami angle has been the absolute best storyline in wrestling. Sami gave new life to The Bloodline, where realistically they were running out of steam and Sami's eventual turn made Roman Reigns into the absolute monster that he is today. Am I in denial thinking Sami could beat Roman Reigns for the title?

Everyone has been off AEW for a while with good reason, every other week it is weak, and even on good nights now it is mixed.
Sami - Bloodline is like objectively the best angle in any fed in years. And with good reason, they built that shit up for months. Most feds only build matches for a week or two and expect them to be blockbusters.
Only takes three seconds to win a match on a fluke too. Sami def could have won, without truly beating Roman, with a lucky rollup. Then getting destroyed after the match.

Big Pete , sorry I don't understand the Sami mention. It could be the end of Wrestlemania, confetti bucketing down on Cody as he cradles the championship before lifting it in the air and you'd be calling for a Dusty finish.
I'm just teasing.
I'm not 100% convinced yet that Cody walks out as champion. However Meltzer & Alvarez were bending over backwards on how they should have had Roman Reigns drop the title to Sami before Wrestlemania and the lengths they've gone to make the case is ridiculous.
You can do anything you want in Pro Wrestling, but as soon as Cody came out at #30 and won, it was always going to be Cody challenging that 900+ reign of Roman.

Either way, what a time to be a WWE fan. We're going into Wrestlemania off the momentum of the best storyline in decades, perhaps the most interest for Wrestlemania since Austin v Rock at X7. And that's not even the official main event.

Sadly the rest of the card is ill developed and really lackluster. Is a two day Wrestlemania ever that great top to bottom? But, outside of what is official.. there's the likelihood of Seth v Paul, Drew v Gunther and most definitely Usos v KO/Sami.

Dave train his readers to believe certain thing then surprised when they vote a certain way.
And since he pretty much said WWE and HHH beat AEW and Tony this year means he probably assuming The Elite are heading WWE. So just starting his move.

In a strange twist, he's conditioned his audience to be so pro-AEW, then the results totally contradiction his actual opinion.

Dave soured on AEW after Brawl Out. Likely because it forced AEW to close ranks and stop leaking to him.
