"Ohhh that was close, Excalibur! I actually can't believe that didn't end it!"

The crowd is buzzing and Eddie Kingston is beside himself, refusing to accept that Claudio Castagnoli just kicked out of a devastating pump-handle slam. Claudio looked out cold after an awkward landing and Kingston thought for sure he had finally won singles gold in ROH.

Kingston shakes it off though and pulls Claudio to his feet, pressing his forehead against Claudio's as he does so. The blood of both men drips into their eyes and pools on the canvas beneath them as they get to their feet, the roaring crowd begging for more.

Kingston holds Claudio by the chin, saying something to him under his breath. It sounds like "I forgive you," though we can't be sure. Kingston then uses every last ounce of his strength to connect with a spinning backfist that sends Claudio's jaw, blood, and soul into the shadow realm. Kingston has done it. He's about to become Ring of Honor World Champion...

...but as Claudio crumples to the canvas, he rolls onto his side and drops to the floor outside the ring. The impact of Kingston's fist knocked Claudio just far enough that he was able to avoid a pinfall attempt. The crowd groans as Kingston scrambles to try and stop Claudio from falling out of the ring, but his fingers grasp nothing but air and Kingston collapses to the mat in frustrated exhaustion.

Kingston slams his bloodied fist on the mat and cries to the heavens as Claudio uses this gift to collect himself. The referee starts the 10 count but Kingston grabs him by the collar and shouts "THIS ENDS WHEN I SAY IT ENDS" before shoving the referee into the corner. This earns Kingston a stern warning, but he couldn't care less. He exits the ring and grabs Claudio by the ears, trying to swing him into a ring post, but Claudio reverses and Kingston ends up eating the steel. Claudio sees an opening and tosses Kingston back in the ring, then goes up top. As Kingston rises to his feet, Claudio dives at him with a spinning elbow that knocks Kingston out cold. Claudio then flips him over into a Boston Crab and Kingston doesn't move. He's completely out. Claudio wrenches his spine into an impossible position and the referee stops the match for Kingston's own safety.

Winner and STILL ROH World Champion: Claudio Castagnoli

"An unbelieveable match between two men who have been sworn enemies for nearly two decades. And just like when it was put on hold all those years ago, Claudio Castagnoli has come out on top again."

Claudio rolls off Eddie Kingston as if he will never stand up on his own power again. He's completely spent, having just fought the hardest fight he's had since joining AEW/ROH.

After a few moments, both Claudio and Kingston are on their feet. They stand on opposite sides of the ring catching their breath and glaring at one another. Claudio is the first to offer his hand in the sign of Honor, and Kingston is hesitant, but looks like he might accept...

..until Wheeler Yuta rolls into the ring and gets between them. The crowd boos as Yuta, the reigning ROH Pure Champion, puts his hands on Claudio's chest and pushes him back, shaking his head. He has words with Claudio, pointing at Kingston several times, who is just chuckling and shaking his head in disbelief.

..POW! Wheeler Yuta spins around and decks Eddie Kingston right in the jaw! Kingston goes down like a ton of bricks and Yuta stands over him, a scowl on his face and Kingston's blood on his knuckles.

"This is disgusting, Ian. I can't believe what I'm seeing."

"The Blackpool Combat Club has completely lost their way, Excalibur. This behaviour has no place in Ring of Honor. How dare Wheeler Yuta call himself the Pure Champion after this?"

Then, the lights go out...

At first, the music can't be heard over the buzz of the live audience, but when a few notes are heard and the drum beat kicks in, the entire building completely loses their minds.

A strobe light blinks rapidly from the entry way as the crowd beats their chairs and sings along with the lyrics.

When CM Punk steps into view on the stage, the crowd gets even louder somehow. Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli are beside themselves. They both look like they're seeing a ghost, and aren't sure how to react when CM Punk steps into the ring and gets toe-to-toe with both of them.

Punk's icy stare dares Claudio or Yuta to try something. Wheeler looks like he wants to take a shot, but now it's Claudio's turn to hold him back. The ROH World Champion knows better than to fall into one of CM Punk's traps, and this completely unexpected appearance could be the biggest trap he's ever set.

The crowd going wild and chanting CM Punk's name is the only thing that can be heard as the ROH World & Pure Champions slink out of the ring and decide to back off for the first time in their group's tenure. Once they are at a safe distance, CM Punk turns to the other man in the ring, Eddie Kingston, who is now seated in the corner of the ring blinking and rubbing his eyes. He looks as if he isn't sure what he's seeing is real, and that maybe he got knocked even harder than he thought.

CM Punk offers his hand to Eddie Kingston, but Kingston doesn't even hesitate to swat it away and roll out of the ring. Kingston immediately turns his back on CM Punk, again shaking his head in disbelief. He rubs his jaw and stumbles a few times on his way to the back, leaving CM Punk alone in the ROH ring with the roaring crowd as Supercard of Honor goes off the air...

After the match, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli attacked Eddie Kingston. Moments later, CM Punk appeared and the BCC backed off. Punk offered his hand to Eddie Kingston, who turned his back on Punk.

AAA Mega Championship
El Hijo Del Vikingo (c) def. vs. Komander
After the match, El Hijo Del Vikingo was confronted by RUSH, Dralistico & Preston Vance, who offered him a spot in Los Faccion Ingobernables. Vikingo rejected their offer, which caused Preston to step up and slap him across the face. Komander came to Vikingo's aid, and moments later a tag team match was announced for the next episode of ROH TV.

ROH Pure Championship
Wheeler Yuta (c) def. Katsuyori Shibata
An incredible, hard-fought battle ends with Yuta trapping Shibata in the Seatbelt Clutch for a 3-count. After the match, Yuta leaves without shaking Shibata's hand, and the crowd boos him relentlessly. Shibata points to his head as if to say "I'll remember that."

ROH Women's Championship
Athena (c) def. Yuka Sakazaki
Sakazaki has a good showing but is unable to overcome Athena's power. After beating Sakazaki, Athena looks for some extra-cirriculars but Willow Nightingale hits the ring and chases the ROH Women's Champion off.

Mark Briscoe def. Samoa Joe (c) - NEW CHAMPION!
Not even an hour after relinquishing the ROH Tag Team Championship, Mark Briscoe defeats Samoa Joe to become the TV Champ. The battle was brutal and bloody and when it was all said and done, even Joe couldn't help but embrace Mark, who has been through some emotional times as of late. Mark pointed to the sky with the title in his hand and tears in his eyes before leaving the ring.

ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champioship

The Embassy continues to dominate in what was a relatively lacklustre match. Fox, Christian & Metalik tried everything in their arsenal but the power of The Embassy proved too much and they were taken down with relative ease. After the match, Dalton Castle & The Boys appeared to a cheering crowd and promised The Embassy that their reign would be ending soon.

ROH Tag Team Championship - "Reach For The Sky" Ladder Match
The Lucha Bros vs. Top Flight vs. The Kingdom vs. Aussie Open vs. La Faccion Ingobernable
Winners: Top Flight
The opening match was as emotional as it was insane. The "Reach For The Sky" match delivered and then some, and certainly honored Jay Briscoe in every way possible. When it was all over, Top Flight reached for the sky and snatched the ROH Tag Team titles. The young team has been through lots of adversity in their short careers, but that hasn't held them down and they look better and better every day, and now have their first tag team gold in AEW/ROH.

But the big moment of the match happened afterwards when FTR's music hit and Cash & Dax walked into the arena. The fans went crazy as FTR stepped into the ring and squared up with Dante & Darius Martin.

-Dax Harwood "We wanted to be the first to congratulate you two on becoming ROH Tag Team Champions. Nobody knows more than us how much those titles mean, and we can't think of two more deserving winners here tonight. Well done."

The crowd roars and applauds Top Flight..

-Dax Harwood "But we also wanted to be the first to tell you, the new ROH Tag Team Champions, that as of right now, FTR is Ring of Honor EXCLUSIVE!"

Another huge cheer from the crowd, chants of "F-T-R!" erupting..

-Cash Wheeler "Last week we made a promise, that if we couldn't win the AEW Tag Team Championships, we would leave AEW. As you all know, we came up short, and while the finish of the match is a little suspect, we are men of our word. The ruling was that we lost, and so we left...and immediately signed ROH contracts."

-Dax Harwood "So while we wanted to be the first to congratulate you, Darius and Dante, we also wanted to be the first to warn you."

Dax & Cash get right in Darius & Dante's faces, who don't back down an inch..

-Dax Harwood "ROH just got a little more crowded and a lot more talented. Those titles mean more to us than anything else in the world, and we're not stopping until we get them back. And nobody...NOBODY...is going to stop us. Top Guys, out."[/i][/i]

The show kicked off with Dalton Castle & The Boys making their grand entrance. They had a solid trios match against the remnants of The Trustbusters, then Dalton got on the mic and reminded The Embassy that their days were numbered as the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions.

Before their tag team match, RUSH gave El Hijo Del Vikingo one last chance to change his mind. Vikingo responded by turning his back and clocking RUSH with a Pele Kick. The match was hard-hitting and fast-paced as only four of the best lucha libre wrestlers on the planet could have. Preston Vance tried to act as the wild card but his antics at ringside did not prevent the AAA Mega Champion from getting the pinfall on Dralistico and embarassing Los Faccion Ingonerable for a second time in a week.

Willow Nightingale and Emi Sakura had one hell of a match, one that was far better than anyone expected. The crowd was red hot for both women and erupted when Willow got the win, only to be immediately snuffed out when the ROH Women's Champion Athena hit the ring and got payback on Willow for embarassing her at Supercard of Honor.

The ROH Television Championship was defended next as Mark Briscoe hit the ring. He held the title high and proud as a pre-recorded video was shown on the big screen. Mark said that defeating Samoa Joe was one of the best moments of his career, and that he was going to do his brother proud by being a fighting champion, defending the title every week until he either lost, or joined his brother in God's kingdom.

Mark then faced Lee Moriarty, who is no slouch and certainly deserving of the honor. The match was excellent and the crowd was red hot for the entirety. Mark got the win, but not without a few close calls, and he and Moriarty shook hands after the match. Mark was then confronted by one of Moriarty's stablemates Big Bill, who called dibs for next week.

Then after a quick break...

CM Punk enters to an interesting reaction. It's not as positive as his reception over the weekend at Supercard of honor. The fans mostly cheer, but the boos are definitely audible. And Punk notices.

He doesn't play to the crowd much and looks modest as he takes a microphone.

-CM Punk "How's the saying around here go? 'So what do you guys wanna talk about?'"

The reaction is about as loud as you'd expect. CM Punk quoting Cody Rhodes just days after Rhodes won the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania is exactly the reaction Punk was looking for. He grins from ear to ear.

-CM Punk "We're all happy for you, Cody."

More cheers. Punk looks proud of himself.

-CM Punk "But we're here for much different reasons tonight. If I remember correctly, there was another saying from someone that used to think he knew everything, and it went something like 'the apology must be as loud and as public as the disrespect.' So that being said, I apologize."

The crowd has gone completely positive now. Polite applause breaks into CM Punk chants.

-CM Punk "I apologize to you at home, those of you here tonight, and to everyone in the back. This isn't something I do easily or often, so know that it comes from a sincere place."

-CM Punk "A sincere place. That's funny. That isn't the words I would normally choose but it is apt because that's where I am and that's where I need to be right now. A sincere place. A place of trust, a place of honor."

-CM Punk "I'm well into my forties and I still have a lot of learning to do, and a lot of growing to do. So that's why I came back here to Ring of Honor. It's the place that took me in as a young uppity jackass with dreams of making it big and it's the place where this old fart is going to hopefully return to his roots and earn back the trust that-"

Eddie Kingston has heard enough.

-Eddie Kingston "Nah nah nah, Punk. You mutha-....shut the damn music off."

The crowd chants for Kingston but he only has eyes and ears for the man standing in the ring.

-Eddie Kingston " Listen Phil, you got a lotta nerve, son. You don't get to speak for me or anyone else right now. Trust me, dawg, you really have no idea what you just walked into. You might think you do, but you don't, brutha."

-Eddie Kingston "I've known you a looong time, and your words ain't mean shit. Never have, never will. You want to earn back trust? You got a lot of nerve even talkin' about trust right now. But look, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Hell, I've changed. If I can change, maybe anyone can change. I know that if this was even just 5 years ago and you pulled that shit you pulled at All Out, I would have peeled that stupid smirk off your face with my bare hands. You wouldn't have left that dressing room on your own two feet. You would have been wheeled out of that arena that night, so you better thank GOD I'm a changed man!"

The crowd roars as Kingston gets right up in Punk's grill.

-Eddie Kingston "But I ain't changed THAT much, brutha. Nahh we may not do things like that around here anymore, but that doesn't mean you're getting off easy. If you want to earn back trust, earn back them, you can start with me."

Kingston points at the crowd, and then himself. Punk has heard enough, but before he can bring the microphone to his lips, Kingston shoves Punk with so much force that he almost topples out of the ring. Punk is furious. He scrambles back to his feet and presses his forehead against Kingston's, and the two jaw back and forth until officials and staff rush the ring and separate them.

Kingston's music hits again as he laughs at Punk from across the ring. CM Punk is absolutely fuming, but he chooses to listen to officials and leaves the ring.

The main event of the evening sees the newly-crowned ROH Tag Team Champs Top Flight take on the Blackpool Combat Club, more specifically, the ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli & the ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta.

The match looks like the singles champions are about to add more gold to their waists, but before they can get the victory, FTR's music hits and Dax & Cash enter the arena. The distraction is enough that Wheeler Yuta gets caught in a roll up and before Claudio can break up the 3-count, Dante Martin takes him down with a Missile Dropkick. Darius keeps the pin locked in just long enough and the tag champs retain!

Top Flight high-tail it out of the arena with their titles, avoiding the BCC's wrath. But their eyes are all on FTR, who just smile and wave as they head to the back. The BCC are incensed, having been handed their first loss as a team since forming.

ROH News & Notes from Fightful Select
-SRS says that coming to ROH was CM Punk's idea, but many backstage are still unhappy. Sounds like he still has a big hill to climb in that regard.

-Eddie Kingston was willing to work with Punk, but expect Punk to pay some receipts in their match. Denise cringed when SRS used an industry term. This would not be the last time this happened.

-Punk is still signed for at least two years and is expected to remain in ROH for the duration of that contract. Of course this could change. Nobody has told SRS one way or the other and he is purely speculating as usual. This cost me five dollars.

-Both Claudio and Wheeler were happy to job to Top Flight. Or maybe not. Again, SRS is speculating. Denise looks bored. She tries to interject with some actual news but SRS interrupts her to talk about Manscaped.

-Denise tries to bring up how cool it is that CM Punk & FTR are ROH exclusive now, and the Sons of the Hitman might be the ones to watch this summer. SRS agrees but is clearly upset that he didn't think of that first.

-SRS is distracted blocking people on twitter and Denise gets to actually talk for once. She informs the audience that The Firm is signed to ROH. Stokely Hathaway announced on twitter that they are focused solely on the ROH Television Championship, and all members of The Firm will be challenging for the title until they "cut Chicken's head off."

-SRS starts talking about how he is friends with The Young Bucks completely unprompted. Denise pretends to be interested. This goes on for almost 20 minutes.

-SRS says that we should expect most of the talent on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation to become ROH exclusives. He has heard rumours that Dark will become a more streamline weekly program with AEW stars trying to find positions on Dynamite/Rampage, and Elevation will continue to serve as a training ground and could become an ROH pre-show. Denise asks why he didn't bring this up earlier and SRS blocks her on twitter.

-The livestream ends with SRS asking Denise why she won't hang out with him in person anymore. Denise pretends her internet is cutting out and turns off her camera. SRS cries for a solid 5 minutes before he realizes the stream didn't end.

CM Punk cut a brief promo, mostly re-hashing what he tried to get out before being interrupted by Eddie Kingston last week. Punk said that honor will be restored via The Sons of The Hitman, who consider themselves "the excellence of execution, and maybe not the best their was, but surely the best there is right now." They were then confronted by Los Faccion Ingobernable and a trios match was quickly underway.

After the match, Eddie Kingston's music hit and he stomped to the ring to once again get in CM Punk's face. FTR had Punk's back, but he motioned for them to stand down. Eddie and Punk had words, and Punk decided to stay true to his word and stay honorable, backing down and giving Eddie the ring. This actually seemed to upset Eddie even more, who shouted "YOU'RE A FAKE!" over and over as Punk & FTR walked to the back.

Then it was PEACOCK POWER time and Dalton & The Boys made their grand entrance. They strutted around the ring and eventually called out The Embassy, demanding their title shot right here and now. The Embassy arrived, but Prince Nana had other ideas, saying that he wasn't convinced they earned their shot yet, and needed to beat one more trio that he brought in specifically for tonight. That's when "Beautiful Disaster" by 311 hit and The Motor City Machine Guns walked onto the stage. Then moments later they were joined by KUSHIDA, and The Time Machine Guns marched to the ring.

The fans were treated to an excellent trios battle, with plenty of throwbacks to MCMG's ROH days and when it was all over, Dalton Castle & The Boys stood tall, winning arguably their most gruelling match since joining AEW/ROH. Their triumph threw The Embassy for a loop, and they actually looked a little shook as they retreated to the back.

Then the main event of the evening saw the TV Champ Mark Briscoe make good on his promise to defend the title every week, and The Firm made good on their promise to throw everything they had at him as Big Bill walked out and immediately started laying into Chicken.

The crowd was 1,000% behind Mark and while he took a severe beating, he managed to hang in long enough to get the win. The celebration didn't last long though as the newest members of The Firm stormed the ring. Swerve Strickland, Parker Boudreaux & TRENCH emerged from seemingly nowhere and laid boots to Mark Briscoe.

But as the chaos was about to get out of hand, ROH's entire tag team division came flying out of the back. ROH Tag Team Champions Top Flight, The Lucha Brothers, The Kingdom and La Faccion Ingobernable rushed the ring, chasing off The Firm and standing behind one half of the greatest ROH tag team of all-time. The entire division seemingly put their differences aside and had Mark Briscoe's back, chasing off the threat to his TV title.....for now.

Their triumph threw The Embassy for a loop, and they actually looked a little shook as they retreated to the back.

Then the main event of the evening saw the TV Champ Mark Briscoe make good on his promise to defend the title every week, and The Firm made good on their promise to throw everything they had at him as Big Bill walked out and immediately started laying into Chicken.

The crowd was 1,000% behind Mark and while he took a severe beating, he managed to hang in long enough to get the win. The celebration didn't last long though as the newest members of The Firm stormed the ring. Swerve Strickland, Parker Boudreaux & TRENCH emerged from seemingly nowhere and laid boots to Mark Briscoe.

But as the chaos was about to get out of hand, ROH's entire tag team division came flying out of the back. ROH Tag Team Champions Top Flight, The Lucha Brothers, The Kingdom, La Faccion Ingobernable, and even FTR rushed the ring, chasing off The Firm and standing behind one half of the greatest ROH tag team of all-time. The entire division seemingly put their differences aside and had Mark Briscoe's back, chasing off the threat to his TV title.....for now.
