How? Why is it stale? There’s literally been nothing stale about the Bloodline storyline. Add in Cody Rhodes losing and it just got even better. Roman is at the point where he’s so good he’s pissing off adults by how dominant he is.

I just think the never ending Roman title run is absolutely awful. I've never liked the long heel reigns - HHH, JBL, King Booker and Jinder were bad enough, but the whole Bloodline thing is the worst ever.

That checks out. I actively avoiding listening to Cody's music since I think it's awful. Whiny ass vocalist. I couldn't believe my ears when he returned to WWE with the same god awful song he used in AEW.

I think the notion of Reigns being Champion became robotic towards the end of last year, as it would in a legitimate sport. But the work of Sami, KO and now Cody added much needed drama to the storyline.

There was a period where The Bloodline were really just beating everyone. A new contender would emerge, challenge, lose and move on. It's only the last 4 odd months where it has really found its top gear.

The story isn't over. The babyfaces need and likely will take The Bloodline head-on rather than waiting and responding. We all knew The Usos would get involved - so why wait, attack first. We all know Solo will get involved - so attack him before he gets the chance to interfere.

Roman won't lose that belt until he's completely isolated. No doubt a forth man will be introduced to assist the babies.

I absolutely agree Bloodline will have to be gone by the time Roman loses the belt, but Bruno's record is 2,803 days. Reigns isn't halfway there; he'd have to be champ for another five years straight. No thank you.

I think 1,000 days is the obvious target, then almost like Undertaker's streak it becomes the focus point and after that it becomes the mission of every contender (and likely motives every babyface) to want to end the reign regardless of that probability, similarly to how everyone wanted to end Undertaker's.

In the NHL, most pundits have re-classified statistics by talking about stats in the 'modern era' ie, after the 93/94 season or the salary cap era, Because it is generally accepted there was a major shift at that time.

Comparing records in wrestling from drifferent eras is silly. Cool, I get it, WWE is obviously considering the idea they want to be able toe refer to Roman as "the longest reigning WWE champ" or whatever, surely they must want to or they wouldn't be destroying so many other wrestlers credibility for the sake of his overly long reign. But none of the fans who will hear that overly regurgitated line from Michael Cole in 3 years will even know the relevency of it. And it doesn't mean anything because it's comparing apples to oranges

When Sammartino was champ, it was the territory days. Back when Flair, Race, Sammartino, etc were champs, it didn't matter if they destroyed people, because they would be going through different territories every couple months. So a longer reign would end up seeing new acts every couple months as they went through different territories. And fans would not be over exposed.

Today, with a stable roster Roman has already ran th gambit of wrestlers. His reign is just as or more impressive than Sammartinos was, because it is a different era.

But, WWE seems like they are intent on hitting that number so the wiki article will show Roman at the top, no matter the cost. INstead of just explaining to their fans how impressive his reign has been.
