It was some short term " ask us anything " angle they did on RAW, or long those lines.

Someone asked a brain dead question and Sami replied with " you could have asked me anything, you could have asked me about AEW.... " or something similar.

Yeah I saw a clip of Sami talking about it on Twitter. I believe it was called the Hot Seat and it was meant to be a regular segment. However Sami got in trouble for mentioning AEW when he was trying to set the tone for the segment and make it seem spicy.

To me it's classic WWE where they wanted to be edgy, threw something on TV and realised quickly how much it could backfire and quickly opted out.

Was also classic Vince who would push somebody for weeks only to bury them weeks later for some petty reason.

Curious to see how Page goes at Battleground and beyond. He reminds me of Matt Morgan where he has all the tools but just wasn't able to put it together. It's just a question of whether he got lost in the shuffle at AEW and wasn't given the platform to connect (his booking was questionable) or himself. I presume he puts Trick over at Battleground, so it's all a matter of how he bounces back.

Apparently it was a scripted thing. He was supposed to start saying AEW and get cut off. 

It's whatever, but it's also kind of nice to see that kind of thing to get Ethan Page that much more over as a "free agent" that just showed up and invaded NXT. You wouldn't even get that much mention under the old regime. They would have called him Ego Page and made him a painful Canadian stereotype or something.

Ratings be weird as fuck, down 50k for Cody.  AEW segment was weird, as all three guys were hated by fans in AEW.  Fans did not care at all about Spears, people wanted Page off TV and bitched when he was on, and Pillman was outshined by his valet.  People claim they were all misused, but when Tony did try to push them, fans shit all over them.  Which is why they are in NXT really and not on the main roster.  None of them are ready right now for a wide audience.  Page and Pillman likely will get there, but not Spears IMO.

Matt Hardy is teasing himself for the battle royale. Easily can see him being involved in it. Ziggler and Ali too. All guys WWE can trust to work safely with NXT talent.  Given it is NXT, why not pull in former stars too for the anything can happen here to get the ratings up.  Know many hate Matt, but for a one off appearance in a match like this, it is a good use of him.  

Pity Tony and HHH are still not playing nice, as would be a great place to bring in Strong for a one off too and really make NXT the place where ANYTHING can happen.

Time for Sonny Kiss to appear on WWE TV. Should have been the next challenger to Roxanne Perez for the title. 

To the NXT crowd not sure on Hendry. But he would be over as fuck to the Raw or Smackdown crowd. Dude is a genius. As soon as his contract is up in TNA I imagine WWE is hiring him. He was trained by Brookside and Jones, so that basically the performance center style. And now people are paying attention to him, WWE has a reason to want him.

As for Kiss challenging it is harder, as many states now banned transfem wrestlers from fighting women under trans sports bans. Also WWE would get boycotts and advertisers pulling for using her, even during pride month. Fucking sucks, but it is where we are it.  Part of the reason we get so little Nyla on TV elsewhere.

Speaking of forbidden door, The father/daughter dynamic of GM Santino Marella and Arianne Grace is pretty interesting too. Probably someone impact would Def want to use. Her and Gigi Dolin got their program strapped for....reasons.

Her stream is hilariously chaotic.

Did a few matches early on as Ben Carter.

NXT may have a very big surprise in Jeff Hardy appearing in that battle royale. Reports are Tony will not add any time to his contract so his contract is up tomorrow.  Believed Jeff will end up in TNA thought not WWE.  But again, he is a great guy to use as a one off appearance.  Just not the guy you want to rely on weekly.

It's crazy that Joe's entrance on NXT is one of the most watched videos on X right now.  It was great, I just wish he was in the Battle Royal for longer, but it worked well as it was.
