This isn’t a thread to poke fun at anyone’s difficulty with spelling but more so amusing ways to look at commonly misspelt names in wrestling and all the wacky play on words you see in wrestling, especially when it is an ex-WWE talent on the indies. Correct spellings in bold. Damian PriestSee Damien more than I do Damian Ronda RouseyRhonda Rhousey Dominik Mysteriono c Cody RhodesIs not the brother of Lana Rhoades as confirmed on Logan Paul’s podcast Bret HartBrett, Heart Shawn Michaels(Google “Sean Michaels” at your own risk) Gerald BriscoBriscoe Jushin LigerEven autocorrect wants it to be Justin Liger Larry Zbyszko Curt HennigNot Henning Ric FlairRick Kurt AngleKurt Angel a lot but normally just a typo LinstromOn the local Indy scene I’ve seen him as: Linstorm,Lindstrom,Lindstorm Ezekiel Jackson Not Ezekial Trent BarretaI didn’t even know I was spelling this wrong as Trent Baretta until this thread  John LaurinaitisThe executive vice president of talent relations isn’t “John Laurinitus” ======== What are some others you’ve seen misspelt?

Why was there a time when people were typing "Triple HHH"?
I think Chyna's book she even used Sean.
Japanese names a lot of the time. No one has ever correctly spelled Marifiji on the first go. That's why New Japan should just "Cesaro" everyone because it's going down anyway.
<_< BROKEN MATT seems to mispell things like Meekmahn.

Curt Hennig was the first one to pop into my head.
Also, Peter or Rocky Maivia, sometimes with last name being spelled "Miavia".

Rhonda Rousey is super irritating, I don't even know why people think to put an extra 'h' in her name.
I remember typing Kazuchida Okada for a while before I caught myself. It's KazuchiKA Okada. I was mixing his last name with his first name.
Lame example, but that's all I've got.

They certainly do. Not come across that Beach Boys tune before.

The question then becomes how many branches from the Anoi'a family do you need to connect The Tribal Chief to the Beach Boys.

It’s never spelt incorrectly but Takeshita could have easily done with a different name for western audiences. Also maybe Emperor knows but what’s with names like Asuka, Shinsuke where the u isn’t pronounced? Grinds my gears when people like Cornette who pretend like they don’t want the shows (despite talking about them) and pronounce it as “Azooka” or Simon Miller says Oscar for someone reason (getting a down).

Trent BarretaI didn’t even know I was spelling this wrong as Trent Baretta until this thread It's complicated because he's had both. He had two r's in WWE but two t's since. Bailey always annoyed me.

Grinds my gears when people like Cornette who pretend like they don’t want the shows (despite talking about them) and pronounce it as “Azooka” or Simon Miller says Oscar for someone reason (getting a down). It's a quirk of the Japanese language. If you see "suk" in the middle of a Japanese word, the "u" is silent when pronouncing the word. It's the same as the silent "p" in English words that start "ps". It's complicated because he's had both. He had two r's in WWE but two t's since. I never knew that, I thought it was always Baretta

@ness is winning the avatar game. Yeah! ========== I know I've botched Sandow's first name and Trent's last. Can't be bothered. Also spelled Dominik's name wrong until jTjohncenaGOAT corrected me and I have to look up Okada's first name every single time. Curt Hennig is probably the all time champion in this category. I'm as big a Larry Zbyszko fan as there is and even I didn't know how to spell his name until well into my 20s. Though at least I never went the Zabisco route like my brother. Not gonna name names but one that bothers me is seeing people right here on PW spelling it Jeff Jerrett. If there's any wrestler whose name everybody should know how to spell it's Jeff Jarrett. Spelling his name was his gimmick! Pay attention, people. My 90s wrestling fan friends were all about Jerry "The King" Lawyer. Took me years to set them straight. Lawyermania would have drawn no dimes unless we imported lions. Rick was also a big Thommy guy- Thommy Rich, Thommy Dreamer, Thommy Seabolt. Then you had my cousin with his Brutus Briefcase and RIS. For a little while he also insisted it was The Roc.

I called him Henning for so long that I now have trouble believing that’s not his actual last name.
How anyone could misspell Jeff Jarrett’s name after spelling his name was 50% of his gimmick blows my mind.

When Ludvig Borga first came to WWF I thought his name was Ludwig Vargon. Still think that's a badass name. Early HHH was Hunter Hurst Helmsley and I thought his finisher was called the Cavalcade.

Have long accepted that I will never be able to spell Larry Zbyszko without looking it up or copy and pasting it (I copy and pasted it just now). Hollywood Blonds is an interesting one. Everyone spells it Hollywood Blondes. Because that's how it should be spelled. It doesn't help that WCW used both spellings, causing absolute chaos about the proper spelling. But the (long) history of the name ( and its Wikipedia page) is without the e in Blondes. It's Hollywood Blonds. I'm sorry, it wasn't my decision to spell it that way in 1970, but we must respect the lineage.

Rick was also a big Thommy guy- Thommy Rich, Thommy Dreamer, Thommy Seabolt. Another Rickism was Mancho Man. Worth bringing up because I recently saw it right here on PW. WCW confused an entire generation of wrestling fans with their inability to settle on a spelling for Shinjiro's surname. They gave us Otani, Ohtani, and the truly bizarre Ootani. To this day I see Otani & Ohtani used interchangeably. At least Ootani never got over. I've usually gone with Otani but it wasn't until a few hours ago I discovered that is indeed the correct spelling.

It's Stacy Keibler. Not Stacy Kiebler, Stacey Kiebler, or Stacey Keibler. Have to admit I went with Stacy Kiebler for like 20 years. Think we've got a low key #1 contender here.

I've got an embarrassing confession to make.
I often spell Jarrett with two a's!
His whole gimmick is that he spells his name out, and I still get it wrong!

Damian Priest has definitely taken the throne for this as of late, with Goldust (“Golddust”) moving up the ranks since his brother won the WWE championship.
