I’m not going to pretend I’m all that knowledgeable about recent WWE and even I thought it might be weird for Jay to get this win and the title but at the same time - the WWE jumps sharks like no other and never seem willing to take that shot on a smaller star who earned the audience backing and made sense getting that win.

They are afraid to even marginally fail. If he busts as champion, like he probably would - then just give it back to Reigns and use the ending you did tonight but at least give the story that moment.

Cody's is all but now booked to be the chosen one.

I didn't buy Jey winning the title, but Jimmy's interference as it currently stands was absurd. I'm with Michi, I think this was purely out of jealousy and the two will sort their differences out at Payback.

Happy with Io Shirai. We've had the Money in the Bank discussion so many times but it's clearly here to stay. It's something that helps define the company and the cash-in usually gets over with the audience. Io certainly deserves the opportunity and I hope she's given every opportunity to succeed.

Disappointed with the Balor decision. Seth is great and all, but that was a golden moment to legitimise The Judgement Day who have only gone from strength to strength. It seems like they're going to break them up unless I didn't read into things properly.

People said this after Roman beat Drew, then after Roman beat Sami, then after Roman beat Cody, and now after he beat Jey. If Roman loses the title they jeopardise this positive momentum because the Bloodline stuff is cheapened if he loses the title. If they were losing viewers or dropping attendances I would agree with you, but they’re on fire. It’s just smart business.

I think it’s been pretty obvious since the end of Mania 39 that Cody will win a rematch in Philly and I’ve seen nothing to change my mind.

If they aim to incorporate anything like that for characters the trick is to go back to shoot style, forget about UFC/MMA, go back to where all that shit came from and it was pro wrestling with the UWF, UWFI, Rings. Of course a promotion done exclusively in that style probably going to flop on it's own in the USA. But shoot style wrestling is a lovely style of pro wrestling that could offer a lot to certain characters and could easily blend with other wrestling styles if done with a certain style. Wrestlers trying to do MMA stuff in wrestling and it flopping is like know your history know your destiny, in the abundance of water the fool is thirsty. The oracle always said if you want to see the future look into the past. UWF shoot style is what MMA came from and it's the best pro wrestling.

Logan Paul is more respected than Ronda Rousey. The fans love to boo him & don't give a shit about her anymore. I loved the 1st run but outside of that, I couldn't care less. A lot of WWE fans aren't smart fans & even they want Rousey to bounce. Wild stuff. Fans in the arena seem to hate that MMA match.

I wouldn't doubt it a bit. I haven't seen the match they tried to market it like a real MMA fight? I have no idea who Logan Paul is.

Yes, but Vince has put talent going through legal issues in screen.
Examples are Hogan, Jimmy Uso, Jeff Hardy, RVD and Ric Flair.

Cody vs Brock was fine, I guess. Being a NJPW fan I should be all for this "fighting spirit" shtick but it just feels so forced when Cody does it. I didn't come out convinced that Cody was the better wrestler either...Brock just played with his food for too long and kept going for countouts instead of pinfalls.

Iyo cashing in was an awesome moment, but what about that Bianca Belair spot? The way she screamed out in pain I thought she had fractured a bone but clearly not since she came back to wrestle. She clearly hurt something bad though. I can't believe that was all selling.

I like the idea of Rousey vs Baeszler MMA in principle, but the crowd weren't into it and the match was too much in the middle of MMA and pro-wrestling. I wasn't sure what to make of the rules. You had Rousey getting kicked in the head and dropped. That's instantly the end of an actual MMA fight. Later on Baeszler was selling in the corner, unable to compete. Again, that's a ref stoppage in MMA. It was just a weird match.

Exactly how I felt. It's one swerve too many.

The one good thing is that Jey Uso looked almost unbeatable and clearly the superior wrestler to Roman Reigns. He beat Roman and Solo by himself. Phenomenal performance.

No.  For a moment of this stature, WrestleMania can be the only end game.

It would have to take something catastrophic to Roman to end it anywhere else.

REALLY do not get why Shayna and Ronda did not do a catch match. Shayna loves that shit, and Ronda was trained in it. Would not have been the WWE style, but that not supposed to be a WWE match.

I do not the Iyo storyline at all. Bianca wins the title, then loses to a cash in, then very likely Kiari beats Iyo at the next PPV. Makes no sense.  It is a lot of movement but gets nowhere.  

At least we get Iyo vs Kiari on PPV out of it.  They will tear the house down.  If allowed to book their own match should be one of the best women's matches WWE has seen.  Their Stardom stuff was on a different level.

Orton's first World title win was at Summerslam, and so was Lesnar's. Foley won the big one at some random-ass Raw, and the Shield imploded on Raw.

As of right now, I'm not seeing the Bloodline storyline having enough left in the tank to make it all the way to WM. They could stretch it out, yeah -- there's clearly a Jimmy vs Jey detour and Solo could want the Tribal Chief mantle for himself and Creative could always introduce Rikishi as a disappointed Elder or whatever but they'd be sacrificing quality for the sake of hitting a specific date target.

The more I think about it, the more I think WWE made a slight error in making the match for the title as well as for control of the Samoan dynasty. We all knew Jey wasn't winning the belt that night, but usurping control? Yeah, I can see at least a reasonably decent possibility.

They could get The Rock to do a match for the Royal Rumble. By the time they're done, there'll be just enough juice left for Cody to finish it all.

IIRC the Rock severely tore his abs during his last match; no movie company will allow him to wrestle while he's in production.
