Just horrible news. There isn't really anything else you can say. I feel deeply sorry for his family, JoJo and his kids, just utterly heartbreaking.

Just thought about this today but I hope his people are checking in on Erick Rowan right now. To lose your 2 best friends in just 2 years is fucking brutal dude.

Part of me is numb to wrestling deaths but part of me is saddened & shocked beyond belief. I loved OG Bray character. I read something that moved me & I feel like sharing it with you guys. If you don't hear from a loved one for a while, don't stop trying to reach out. When you sense somebody is going through a hard time, don't hesitate to reach out because most of the time they are stuck in the abyss. So do your best to be there for someone any way that you can. I hope Bray spent his final days on earth in happiness. I love all of you.

Been reading a lot of wrestlers twitter/social media responses to this, Windham was practically beloved by everyone in the wrestling industry. I know it sounds clique, especially whenever a wrestler passes away but man he must have been the chillest dude backstage to be around.
Massive respect to Show/Paul Wight for how he handled these interviews on behalf of AEW. He's seen a lot of guys go that he wrestled with so seeing him fight back tears over the loss of Wyatt says it all.

It's eerily reminiscent of Brodie Lee's passing. There was all that confusion over his status so for it to be answered so definitively is just incredibly shocking.
I think ultimately he'll be remembered as one of the better personalities of his generation. He really tapped into something with the Bray Wyatt character and it really connected with the audiences. The way they'd light up the arena and become his fireflies made for a really cool visual and he wasn't afraid to try something new.
I'm not going to pretend he was batting at a 1000 or was well beloved. However I think the criticism was largely out of disappointment because there was so much talent there but it was just seldom realised or in some cases squandered. Still, he had a good run with his 2013-14 work with Danielson, The Shield and Cena being the highlights. At least in the ring, I thought his initial comeback last year with that entrance and then the promo were both fantastic and I really wish they could have followed that up.
Bray Wyatt was obviously the money gimmick and the Wyatt Family was one of the better acts the WWE came up with during that period. However there was something about Husky Harris that drew me in as well and I was genuinely disappointed they ended that Husky Harris-Cody Rhodes gimmick, I thought it would have been like Otise before Otise was a thing.

Yeah the feud with The Shield remains one of my favorite wrestling moments/feuds in recent memory. It was one of the few moments for me that provided those goosebump feelings as an adult watching wrestling. My problem with Bray was always what you kind of pointed out. All the talent in the world, have the gimmick and ability on the mic to be special and the substance was never there and more often than not even though he made the promos sound cool and his delivery was impeccable - there was nothing there but gibberish. It’s a shame because as a big athletic dude he was my cup of tea - as a pseudo horror gimmick - he was right up my alley but I feel like whether it was him or the WWE , they never grasped what they wanted the character to be. I just watched the tribute from last night and it got me. They always do even for wrestlers I might not have loved like Funk or Bray but as a son , father , husband , friend and brother I can’t not be touched by a young life taken too soon. Incredibly sad.

FCW Bray had much better promos. Once the regular writers got to him, things got weird as I am not sure they got the gimmick entirely and made things really silly at times, even before they moved into the recruiting shit and the Fiend.

When he evolved into The Fiend, for me it became a case of, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It was all gimmick in a time of some realism. A lesser performer would have been mocked for even attempting something like that.
When he returned he was naturally embraced, as there was something real. But he and they, all slipped back into the realms of ridiculousness very quickly.
Really none of us can speak as a friend, or of family, we are fans and as fans we'll never see Wyatt just embrace who is was - turn it up to 11 - instead of a silly gimmick. And that's not a great feeling, knowing, likely his best work was ahead of him.

This blindsided me, not gonna lie. I've watched less wrestling this year than at any time in forever, but I keep in touch and this hit hard. He was a unique talent, so different to anything, or anyone else yet I always thought he had one of the most creative wrestling brains, and was totally solid in the ring and was always interesting to watch - even if I didn't always love everything he did. Still, this was too young an age to pass, he still had so much to give in life and in the ring and it's completely tragic to lose him at such a young age. I watched this weeks' SD and it did make me cry, I loved seeing Erik Rowan there too, was a nice touch. Never thought I'd cry seeing an empty chair. RIP Windhamn.

This was the saddest I’ve ever been for a wrestler passing. More then Eddie, Benoit and Owen.
Bray Wyatt was so amazing. RIP Bray.
