Haven’t felt like this since Brodie passed. I’m choked. As frustrating as his career was he was easily one of my favourites over the past decade. Incredible performer and one of the most creative minds to ever step foot in the ring. God fucking damn it.

He had so much potential, just too many start/stop pushes and it's a shame he didn't translate well in this new era. It's more of an inditement on today's fans than the man himself.

Probably whatever the lingering health issues were. He’s been off TV because of something that wouldn’t go away. They never disclosed what it was but I assume we will find out soon.

36 years old geez. I know he fought with mental health in the past and between his ugly divorce, the loss of his mate Brodie Lee among other issues(Creative clashing IIRC within WWE), saw some his characters sort of sabotaged at times. Yet he still was able to make it despite all of this to still win the crowd over. Just really terrible news given he was close to returning. Condolences to his family, that is crazy.

He got too much flack for the lack of great matches, he was more so a storyteller than a wrestler and that is perfectly fine in World Wrestling Entertainment. He came from Husky Harris towards becoming a household name which says volumes about his work ethic and mind within wrestling and just entertainment as a whole. He was able to evolve from the swamp cult leader into becoming a Mr Rogers with a boogeyman side to (on paper) trying to do a multiple personalities of Wyatt sort of deal by the end.

I really liked his Bray Wyatt Firefly Funhouse stuff actually and yeah when he got into the ring it was silly between the red lights in the matches or snapping opponents necks(Much less that being a regular move and not a finisher) but he put on a show for the audience no matter what. Had the whole world in his hands with the cellphone lights, had that insane former Swamp Cult leader head as a lantern, he def. focused more on the buildup than the matches and I feel so many wrestlers forget about that so in that regard, I liked Wyatt.

Whoa. WTF? Tragic news. 36 is far too young. Bray Wyatt leading the Wyatt Family back in 2013-14 is one of my favorite wrestling things of the past 15 years, if not longer. Seeing that act live (99% for Bray) is the main reason I went to a Raw taping back in 2014- the only WWE show I've been to over the last 19 years.

Related to COVID, says he was recovering well but this happened today.

Just terrible news altogether.

Long covid is no joke. Same thing that sidelined Kota Ibushi for almost a year. Same thing that has taken down a couple NHL players. There’s a reason why people keep reminding us that this is a cardiovascular disease above all else.

I think it had Keith Lee in a really rough spot IIRC too, he openly spoke about his absence later in his WWE tenure. 

It is especially scary given the big men are in bigger danger with this due to the size and with how demanding cardio wise wrestling is, we're grateful to have modern medicine at our hands.

This stunned me… I didn’t even believe it.

I’ve been one of the larger vocal detractors of Wyatt since he came onto the scene but obviously would never wish this on any performer. It’s a damn shame. The man was talented as can be and far too young.

A 10 bell salute at All In and there won't be a dry eye in the house.

Regardless of promotion, stuff like this transcends the tribalism. And he should be honoured there as well considering how he's worked with half of the AEW roster.

I'd expect 'Smackdown is Bray' tomorrow as well to be an emotional night.

Fuck me, this is such bullshit. He's only two years older than me.

I've always been an unapologetic mark for him, even during his bad stretches. Bray was easily my favorite WWE character of the 2010's. I thought he was the only one actually worthy of breaking The Streak at one point in his career.

Flaws and all, he was an often misused genius when it came to storytelling and a master of promos during his height. RIP you absolute legend.

If they don’t do something for both Funk & Bray on Sunday I will be shocked.

I honestly was in such shock when I saw it that I didn't post much because I thought it might have been one of those death hoaxes. I wish it had been.

Imagine Mike Rotunda having to make that call. No parent should have to bury their child.

Man I don't remember being as excited for a character as I was his first incarnation. Do you remember the excitement we all felt when The Wyatt Family faced off for the first time against The Shield? That shit was palpable. As much as it was when the lights would go off and all the little fireflies would dance. I am not sure what all happened or didn't happen or should have happened, but I thought he would be the guy to take over that Supernatural gimmick once Taker retired. It's crazy to think how many times he'd reinvented himself and always rose to the occasion.

I feel for his family.

I think Bray was a genius at the creative side of the business and I think we lost him before we got to see his best.

A real shame and a sad loss.

This news sent a shiver down my spine to be honest. He leaves a great legacy as a one of a kind performer who was one of the few to truly get over in modern wrestling.

There are going to be 80000 rabid wrestling fans in Wembley Stadium Sunday. A firefly scene for the ages.

Man I can't believe my eyes. I'm also a pretty big Wyatt detractor but I can't deny how amazing the Wyatt Family faction was.

I also really liked the Firefly Fun House in its early days, a fantastic creative idea. What's ability to perform and tell stories is one of a kind.

Despite what some claim, COVID can be very serious.

I did not like all he did and thought he had an ego at the end, but no one can deny how damn creative Bray was. The backwoods Max Cady gimmick was mind blowing character stuff. Could see WWE seemed to want a backwood cult leader, but Bray really managed to swerve it all in a different direction that made it so much better.
