In the past decade or so there have been lots of western female talents who have done tours of Japan. Some of them have been really good, others have been pretty bad. Imo few have been an as impressive from an overall standpoint than Mariah May .
Mariah has not only been impressive from a in-ring standpoint . Having really fun matches with the likes of Giulia and Utami. You can see really how getting to wrestle as often as she as in Stardom ( she's had over 90 matches this year in Stardom) has really helped her grow a s wrestler.
But also doing funny character work playing up her diva-esque persona.
Too often western talents will just try to be stoic super cool babyfaces or heels and not try and meaningfully interact with the Japanese audience like Mariah has. She's really been a highlight. It's no wonder wonder she seemingly has interest from both WWE and AEW.

Rumor has it, she'll be going to AEW, which in all honestly I wish they did more with the women, still though I am somewhat intrigued in seeing what they do with her.
The full Giulia/Mariah May match for anyone interested.

Not shocked to see her snagged. If it was not AEW, WWE would have likely grabbed her. She is only 25, and a three year vet, with that third year being this Stardom run. That is crazy given how good she is.
Kind of shocking WWE worked with her, and passed early on.
