So I'm sure most, if not all of you are familiar with Extreme Warfare Revenge and/or Total Extreme Wrestling, and if not well both EWR and TEW 2005 are freeware. Over the last couple of months, I have gotten back into these, thanks to TEW 2020. I've mostly been playing a 2022 Impact Wrestling savefile, for about a year and a half now (in-game time), but have decided to fire up an AEW game (with the start date being September 2023).

With that said, I was planning on channeling my inner WCW fanboy (and I'm sure Tony Khan would approve), by doing a soft reboot of sorts. That is to say, my first major event will be Battle of the Belts (this will be the last BotB before the event gets retired), where I'll be unifying the AEW and ROH titles together and creating new titles.

I also plan on hosting, a couple of special matches and tournaments throughout the year. Obviously Double or Nothing will have the Casino Battle Royale (20-Man Battle Royal), however, I also plan on introducing the Brodie Lee Memorial Tournament during the month of December, as well as a Super Trios tournament, probably around February - March, with the winners earning a title shot.

Always been curious about these types of games but never got around to trying them out, seems really interesting, like a pro wrestling version of Madden franchise mode(simulating).

I've been playing EWR since it came out 20 something years ago, it's one of the first things I download on a new device.

I started a new game a month before my son was born in July 2019 and played that game until earlier this year when it eventually just ran out of steam. I was 30 years into the future, there were bugger all current workers left (maybe, a 50 something Austin Theory) and in terms of the game replenishing the ranks of new workers - my training camp just couldn't keep up. Eventually I went out of business due to the inevitability of there simply not being any anyone left.

I would back it up religiously after each month, because once you hit a certain point it just would eat itself with errors.

Someone will have to fill me in because I have no idea what these games are.

In short - EWR or Extreme Warfare Revenge is a text based wrestling business/promotion simulator. 

You begin by taking control of one of the existing organisation and you control every aspect of the company. The booking, the money, the hiring and firing, television everything, etc. It is incredible detailed in the most basic of ways. Hence, why a certain degree of imagination is required. There's a degree of KPIs that determine the success of the business - obviously income, ratings - impacting television deals, growth, etc and all of this is rated against your competition. Relationships form between talent - some hate and dislike each other depending on experiences together, other's become friends and become loyal to each other. In addition to blood relationships. Because of these relationships, a move like firing someone can actually have a negative impact on other talent. Hiring people, can have a positive impact.
