What’s going on? Why is time moving so fast? I’ve been sober for months now so I know it’s not drugs doing it but it’s happening. I know I’m not the only one who feels it.

It’s a common occurrence. When you’re a kid, something like Christmas takes forever to wait for. Why? Because waiting for it over the course of aged 7 to aged 8 represents 12.5% of your life. It’s a massive chunk. As you get older, a day, a month, and a year, all become a smaller fraction of your life than they previously were. This means you’re more likely to feel like time is moving quicker.

A few of us were talking about how a single school day felt like an eternity as a teenager. It was 6 hrs a day.
We'd start school at 9am and finish at 3.15pm. Somehow they fit a 30 minute recess in there and a 1 hour lunch.

I don't feel weeks/months go by quickly, but my work days disappear. One minute I'm firing up my laptop to start the day, then suddenly I'm on lunch break, then I check my watch and it's almost time to finish. My work isn't especially exhilarating, but I guess it keeps my brain engaged.
Fortunately my evenings don't disappear so suddenly. At least, not always.

I'm finding that not only is life moving faster, but that my brain is so full that I can't remember huge chunks of what has happened even the Xmas holidays last year.... zero memory.

This used to frighten me when it happened. It no longer does. Now I just fill those spaces with shit I make up that’s better anyway. Last Christmas for instance I went to Thailand for massages. Ok and weed.
