Many moons ago I worked for Reebok and wearing shirts with their logo made sense. But after that, I had a few jobs wear the company name embroidered on apparel was semi common in the work place. For the most part it was held as a prize you could win or something that management gifted to others. It never resonated to me to wear a foundry or mill polo, even if you worked in the office. Come to turn around in working in the front office in a blue collar employer and the work branded apparel is no longer treated as a prize or a gift. It is just part of an allotment of clothes you can get from a uniform supplier. 5 tops, 5 pairs of pants and a coat a year. What a remarkable difference in mentality. No longer is it a carrot. It is now utilitarian. Do you wear your company's logo on your chest proudly? Do you pay for the clothes?

My work shirts are supplied with the logo on them.
Last year there was a Travis Scott themed McDonalds shirt for the workers and a lot of people were applying just to get the shirt and then quit. Some locations even had signs up don’t apply if you just want the shirt

I have a few work branded items; a lightweight jacket, a thick rain jacket (if by rain jacket one means absorbs all the rain) and a few ball caps. Don't wear them unless I have to.

I have nothing. I work for a child protection agency...so not really something you want to advertise in the first place.

My company gave us all branded Yeti bottles and travel mugs. I like that rather than a shirt.

I have a Yeti cup, a hoodie, 2 tees and a hat. I use only the yeti cup. I wear one of the tees around the house.
The laptop backpack I use has our old company name embroidered on it but it’s functional so I don’t care.
I paid for none of it. They are given as gifts to us.

If we wear company apparel we can have casual Fridays, so I have a few polo shirts and a fleece vest with the logo just to get by for that. We do have to pay for them. If I left tomorrow I’d leave the clothes behind.

I'm thankful for the company branded polos now, previously it felt like I was buying dress shirts every other month.

It's my company so I chose it... We have branded tshirts, polos, long/short sleeve shirts and jackets. If nothing else its nice not thinking about what I'm going to be wearing to work.
Every 2 years I throw them all out and replace them.

Somehow I've worked at a software company for 6 years without getting anything - but a super stylish fleece gilet is in the pipeline. It must be an American thing judging by Mike's post.

I've never received work branded clothing, which is good because I wouldn't wear it. I don't like branding on my clothing in general, least of all my place of work which I have no particularly loyalty towards.
However, I do have plenty of work branded notebooks and pens.

Yes, instead of actually useful items or a bonus we get branded crap instead.
New Year? Here's a logo'd hoodie you can't wear to work instead of the $25-50 it cost for one.
Project come in on time and under budget? Here's a backpack or a hat you can add to your ever growing pile instead of gift card.
I think it's because branded items we don't have to pay extra taxes on but gift cards and bonuses we do over a certain amount for a year.
I got air pods one year for a job well done and I think we're allowed $500 in 'gifts' before we pay tax. When they are purchased the purchaser has to say who and what it was for and payroll keeps track.

Sidenote: 3 different employers have asked me my size. I tell them all Large Tall. They all give me size Large Tall. I hate this lack of accommodation. If I was obese I would get a 3x. But, I'm tall, not my choice. No accommodation.

I don’t want to talk to you guys about big boobs. The last tee and hoodie they gave me doesn’t fit over my boobs so it’s like ‘thanks for the neck warmer’. There were no bigger sizes. It wasn’t North American sizing let’s put it that way.
