The following games have my interest for January...
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (NS) Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (NS)
First off, I decided to add a new feature, in regards to PS Plus (not sure if the X-Box has a similar feature (maybe Game Pass???), as I don't keep up with that side of the gaming world). Second of all, I can't wait to add Apollo Justice to the collection (so it's alongside the other two Ace Attorney collections), also the new Prince of Persia game looks like it could be a lot of fun as well.
Edit: Also, I'll probably just use the monthly threads, in-regards to posting NSO announcements for the month, instead of the gamers pub thread.

Biggest one is the new Prince of Persia game. Looks like a super fun Metroidvania style game, easily the most excited game for me from Ubisoft in ages.
I already own the DS Phoenix Wright games on the 3DS so not in a big urgent matter to get those.
Another Code was also something else I want to dive into but it's full price and was really looking for 2 games to make it worth my while on that Best Buy Members B2G1 free Switch games deal they did. If they do that deal again, I would jump on this game, the new Peach game coming out in a few months and (finally) they made Spirit Hunter 2 available for the Switch, which was the other game I was hoping would be apart of this promo. Sucks it was only the PS4 version available for preorder at the time which made the offer invalid.
Another Code looks very good though, 2 games in 1 is still a good offer.

Never actually got around to playing Golden Sun, so I'm looking forward to this. I really enjoyed Camelot's work on the Shining Force series, so this is right up my alley.

The first Golden Sun game is delightful. The djinni mechanic is cool, great art design and a nice story. The sequel is also good but it doesn't have the same charm as the first game and also feels quite bloated in places.

I played bits and pieces of Golden Sun 1 but got stuck at the lighthouse, found it confusing as a 7th grader.
That is what's up. Supposedly the highest ranked game from Ubisoft in 10 years. Same people behind Rayman Origins/Legends are behind this so of course it was going to kill it. Reason it made my top 10 in most anticipated games of the year. Got my Switch copy coming next week and while it isn't going to be 4K like PS5/XSX versions would be, it's still going to be 60 FPS(hopefully throughout!)!

I think I played the first GS, but can't remember if I played the 2nd. Hell, I can't remember much about the first anyway. A lot of those RPGS that aren't bonafide classics kinda blend together for me.

Jesus christ how much milk are they gonna force out of this TLOU cow? I mean I know they release games all the time like Skirym, but I coulda sworn people hated II... I thought re-releasing Part I again was a bit much considering that already received a PS4 re-release. However I don't mind what they're doing with II where returning players have the option of simply paying an upgrade fee to receive all the graphical updates.
II was always divisive. Some actually prefer it over the first, but in general it's viewed as a worthwhile sequel that just falls short of the mark. Of course there's still a vocal minority that thinks it's a horrible video game with very few redeeming qualities. It's basically their version of Hogwarts Legacy and it's too embroiled in the culture wars shtick that is oh so tiresome.

That looks pretty interesting actually. Unfortunately, it's only for X-Box and PC at the moment, making it a no-go for me.

Lony buys a lot of Switch games. So many dimes they're leaving on the table.

The trailer really didn't tell me a lot. I just came across Arekkz Gaming's video and it appears to be more like Rust/ARK with the monsters thrown in. I've never played any of those games before so I'd probably start there before I try this weird genre mish-mash.

Rayman Legends was a joy to play, legitimately one of my favourite games on the Switch. As for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, I've been digging what little I've played of the demo so far, I'll definitely be picking up the full game at some point. I also downloaded the demo for Another Code: Recollection, so we'll see how that goes, when I get around to checking it out.

I tried Palworld for like 1-2 hours, just not for me. I am not a big fan of the Survivalist sort of games and this game unapologetically has this for much of the intro. I wish the game had more actual battles with trainers or the like, the structure of the game isn't really for me. However, the game is getting massive attention and all of the big streamers are into it so this seems like a massive success for the studio so congrats.
The other January release we talked about here..... I am really enjoying my time with however;
I am like 7-8 hours into Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and this has been a sublime Metroidvania. I am playing it on the Switch so I am missing out on the 4K resolution that I would get on my TV but still 1080P 60 FPS(I have my Switch hooked up to a TV that doesn't do 60 FPS since Switch games rarely demand this and my LG TV is really saved for my PS5/XSX more so) is nice. Playing it on the 2nd hardest difficulty, this game packs a pure punch where enemies can tea off at you in a matter of 3 hits! The movement is good in the beginning but like with most Metroidvania games, the minute you obtain the air dash, the game changes. The puzzle rooms as you'd expect from this series are top notch and arguably the best part of the entire game, we're talking precise jumping off a wall and landing over spikes to then jump on a few walls to progress. Or a water room puzzle where you need to let the water rise a platform and use it to progress. The story seems solid even if it's not groundbreaking but given this genre, that's not why I am playing this game. Again it's early and there's very few gripes I would have with this game(The merchant isn't around enough for my liking, I am a good 60-90 minutes in right now and have had no chance to spend my currency which you lose a portion of if you die which will happen quite a bit!). Altogether though, this game is everything I expected it would be as Ubisoft Montpellier are by far my favorite studio from Ubisoft as a whole! This game even has the Rayman Origins/Legends gimmick of a coin collectible behind trapped behind a puzzle room where you not only have to touch the coin but you have to hit the landing/finish the room to fully get it. The minute I saw that, I said "YEP that's Rayman".

I enjoy reading your thoughts on Prince of Persia, Blindy, I'll probably pick that up when I grab the Apollo Justice trilogy. I was gonna get it this past weekend, but I couldn't turn down the Japanese import games that I ended up getting instead.

So game that went way under the radar blow the fuck up this month. Palworld is a fusion of Ark and Pokemon in early access and absolutely amazing. $30 on steam or xbox live. Early access has it appears 45 or so hours of content. I am in mid game at about 25 and not ventured into 40 percent of the game yet.
Gameplay is open world survival crafter, but you catch Pokemon like Pals that help you gather supplies and craft. So you building up a base, then go hunt and capture more Pals. Gameplay look is exploring, building your base, getting new equipment and then hunting down stronger and stronger Pals. Been games like this before, but this one is oddly just feels right. Single player world has Ark like config so you can make it as easy or difficult as you like.
