I'm an Attitude Era kid. Got into it in late 98 because of Rock and Austin. WM2000 rolled around not long after and in addition to the PPV they had this crazy add-on. I can't say for sure but at the time ppvs were 30 and mania was 35 (gotta get that america the beautiful surgcharge I guess) and for 50 you got an early prototype to the documentary series that would be all the rage in the DVD/streaming era. I think it started @ noon and went 7-8 hours until WM16 officially kicked off. That is honestly where I got a good chunk of my deep dive into DIS BUSINESS. I only remember 2 things about it though. First place I heard Bitter Sweet Symphony and I remember my dad marking out hard for Bret going over Austin. He always trolled us since we loved Austin, dunno if he had any love for the excellence of execution beyond fucking up Austin.
Anyways it was awesome not just in terms of giving a newer fan an education, but VALUE BRUH.
15 more bucks and you had HOURS AND HOURS of stuff to watch. DLC before DLC!
Does anyone have any memories of WM All Day Long? Had some dude join pw once just to PM me asking if I knew where it could be downloaded online. So I must've made a post about it before and PW was the google result when someone was looking for LINKS. Basically I did my part to get her over bruh. Seriously imagine someone joining pw just to ask you about an obscure thing you once posted about.
Have they done anything like this since then? I'm of course talking pre network era. Did it get used for those mania dvd mega sets they made years ago?
Like I'm trying to see if anyone else has fond memories of this being a "thing" besides me and that one guy.

Wow. Major points for @ness. Like all the points. I had forgotten all about this. Even your mention of it in that other thread didn't ring any bells. But now I remember. And I remember mainly because this girl Gina I worked with had a WRESTLEMANIA PARTY with like two dozen people trickling in, at least half of them GIRLS, while this special played all afternoon. The experience was waaaay better than that mediocre 'Mania- the second bad one in a row. How WWF be so hot yet put out two DUD 'Manias in a row?

Yeah 15 was my first live mania, so it took me many years to accept mania as a big deal because of these stinkers. And honestly even today I do think they smell their own farts too much for my liking. Those DED SRS showcase of the immortal interviews before mania kicks off lowkey embarrasses me as a fan. "Fuck off CHarlotte it ain't that big a deal"

I was very eager to absorb wrestling at the time so being surprised with all day ppv essentially to a new fan was amazing. 10 hrs of wrestling sounds brutal today but then I couldn't get enough. Yeah a lot of my first exposure to the important parts of 1-15 was on this day. Probably propped up austin/hbk from irrelevancy to me personally. I forever mimick that finish in my fantasy mind. Got the song over with me too.
I have this weird memory of piper/bret being showcased. Depending how far we go, eventually I'll put this match on a list. Wonder how much of the heavy lifting of that opinion came from this special. For a lot of "moments" as well.
Experiencing so much history at the time was just amazing. Today not as special and it's all so accessible (except this show in whatever video format apparently!) but you can easily look back at the old shit. This was like the sega channel for one day. No for real makes me wonder if they were thinking they could do a network after trying this.

It's also why I'm always glorifying 95-96! That period forever shaped my fandom. Those weekend tape rentals were my "Wrestlemania All Day Long." Imagine only seeing 2 WWF pay per views in over 4 years and NEVER seeing a NWA/WCW pay per view. Then, suddenly, all that glorious wrestling is only a video store away. I couldn't get enough. Funny thing is I barely watched the special @ness remembers so fondly. Know I didn't get to Gina's right when it started. And I remember leaving at some point (before 'Mania proper of course) to pick up this other girl. Plus there were a lot of people chit chatting. And I'd seen most (all?) of the matches anyway. But I definitely understand where he's coming from.

I remember this. For taping reasons. Recall having no idea what it actually meant, so I was like, am I taping this? What the hell is WrestleMania All Day?
I seem to vaguely remember an NFL SuperBowl Style Pregame Show (Ivory was one of the hosts) where they'd intercut between live happenings and pretaped packages of greatest WrestleMania moments. Were they 1 hour blocks of pretaped stuff with live hosting between? That would make sense, but I really don't remember. The fuzziest memories.

I remember the all day event for WrestleMania 16 (or as they called it that year, WrestleMania 2000). I remember my dad buying it, because "hey, an extra bit of stuff to watch on a boring Sunday afternoon). Being a person that had become a fan 1998, it was fun getting to see old footage of a lot of WrestleManias that I hadn't seen, since the video stores in my area didn't have all of the WrestleManias to rent.
I also remember them warning that a satellite passing by could knock out the signal of the event later that night, but the signal didn't go out during the event in my area. Not sure if that was because my area still was using the "scramblevision" PPVs or not, but I was happy the signal didn't go out, while a little disappointed as well.😂
I do wonder though, with them naming it "WrestleMania 2000", to fit with the nationwide trend of putting "2000" after everything that year, what WWE will do when they actually get to WrestleMania 2000?...

I've been meaning to reply to this thread, but just stopping by to say this has been re-uploaded to XWT.
This thread is something of a holy grail because I vaguely remember hearing about this at the time and being crushed I had no chance of watching it. In fact I may have been more excited for this than the PPV itself and from the brief glimpse, it's actually really well done and I'm surprised it was never re-released as a DVD documentary.
