So, odds on seeing a bearded man with a guitar wandering around the crowd on Dynamite this week?

I see him more TNA than AEW.

Am I the only one who doesn't care for this guy and his dumb gimmick?

Once upon a time it seemed like he had a lot of potential. The " drifter " gimmick should have only got him in the door, he then failed to evolve beyond that and he just remained a joke character.

Good points. The drifter is a starter gimmick, it's fresh but nowhere near compelling enough to carry a career, at least not the way he performs it. He is definitely not compelling enough in the ring, and nowhere near big enough to merit his own thread.

Elias Samson, the nomadic journeyman could have worked as a personality.

If they billed him from the actual South and really leant into Elias being a from a dust bowl/rust belt small town and played to those values and sentiments, he could have been a solid midcard act, especially appealing to those blue collar types.

That's how I'd sell him. Put him in an old pick-up, rusty patina paint and a V8 rumble, some crackly old country on the radio and show him driving towards " home " until he eventually reaches his destination. All the way talking in old folky lingo and remenising about the good old days, with a little hint of tragedy in his stories.

Reading back my posts, I was clearly a dick. It's obvious I don't care for Elias, but I shouldn't be dictating which wrestlers deserve a thread and which don't. I was in a bad mood when I posted that but that's no excuse.

Elias is popular. I am not ignorant to the buzz he received in the WWE forum, how people clamored to see him, and how he brought new life back to the character when he introduced Ezekiel. No wrestler is undeserving of a thread, not even Repo Man, so let's celebrate Elias and see what the future holds for him.

If he shows up in AEW, I'll check it out with as open a mind as I can manage. I may even like what I see. I'm sorry RT!

This is a great idea NATH45. Billing him from a small town and having him drive a pick up is a awesome idea. Small details like this would've pushed the gimmick over even more.
