Household must have? Or, I've got a pot... I think you need something better than a pot, but it doesn't have to be a dedicated rice cooker. We used to have a combo slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker. Now we use the Thermomix, works very well

Cheap rice cookers are great. Flawless rice every time.

I use my steamer to make rice. Works well for me, don't need another gadget for it.

If you eat rice a lot, buy one. Totally worth it.
If you're like my family and you eat rice like once a week if that, a pot is fine. Just remember to rinse your rice before you cook it either way. You don't think it is going to make a difference, but it does. It's night and day.

Been on a fence on getting one. But the retail space on my counter is pretty booked.

I paid £30 for mine. Does the job beautifully. We eat rice a few times a week. I would say if you’re similar, go for it.

I have one. Her name is 'mom'. We got rid of all the extra appliances when we moved including the rice cooker as we might eat it once a week, if that. We just went back to the old fashioned way: pot & water.

Rice part 2: what is the best type of white rice? I like medium grain. Someone told me the best rice is the one with “three ladies on the bag.” Haven’t found it yet.
