The NHL is having the same conversation. They proposed an "eye in the sky" ref that watches the game from a press box or some other vantage point and they can communicate with the refs on the ice to ensure calls to go missed. It would also open up the game more because you could probably remove one of the referees from the ice and have them upstairs.

But sports are run by boomers so until that changes we're stuck with dogshit calls every single game and zero consistency from one game to the next.

Though I agree. Officiating is a problem and it seems somewhat fixable with just a tiny of of embracing technology.

Kyren Williams flourishing this year makes me happy, he was awesome at ND and a shitty combine/pro day ruined the actual tape on the player which was steadiness & reliability. Took a few years but happy to see him rolling.
