Sexual assault allegations against Vince McMahon from 2006 have resurfaced recently, with this really in-depth piece on Deadspin today looking into why he wasn't charged, but perhaps more interestingly from our perspectives, the coincidental timing with some of the segments of the Trish and Mickie feud. Monday night's segment with Alexa and Kurt Angle seemed a little bit odd at the time, and while in isolation I think it was quite effective at portraying Alexa as a manipulator who will take up any cause in order to weasel her way out of defending her championship, it's almost impossible to ignore the timing once again. The 2006 events were re-raised in an article on January 26, and within a week and a half we have a segment where Alexa despite making a hell of a lot of sense arguing for equality is presented as a heel as the "annoying girl who cried sexism", an aspect to her character (correct me if I'm wrong) that has not been seen before.

I think it was just Alexa spin on the whole Brock is never here thing. Miz and a few other have brought it up in promos at time. Alexa did make some valid points but it wasn't because she a woman it is because Brock can ignore most things that are normal for other wrestlers. World titles are suppose to be on the line in elimination chamber matches.

Partly, it's doing what professional wrestling does best, ok poorly - satirising popular culture. You could have easily booked a typical whinging heel angle, but considering the language, it was a deliberate attempt at capturing the mood.
