For real Randy Orton/Rhodes at Summerslam would be great. Or Logan Paul after he loses the US Belt to L.A. Knight. 

The ladies Royal Rumble was most entertaining, the result of the two singles matches were known well in advance, and Cody winning the Rumble has been anticipated since he lost at Mania last year.

Both the men’s and women’s Royal rumbles suffered from lack of legitimate contenders, and the men’s match especially was stuck in midcarders that there was a real lull through the first fourteen guys.

TNA has showed a willingness to work with WWE in the past. I’m down for it TBH. Maybe they let Naomi out of her contract early for this in exchange for the KO Champ appearing also?

Something that’s kind of flying under the radar is that we have some pretty historical consistency with the WrestleMania main event in the 10 year anniversaries involving three guys instead of two.

X: Luger, Yokozuna, Hart
XX: Benoit, HHH, HBK
XXX: Bryan, Orton, Batista
XL: Cody, Roman, Rock?

That was a pretty meh show overall. I’ve seen worse but still. Had higher expectations.

Women’s Rumble was great. One of the best I have seen.

Universal title match was ok until it wasn’t.

Logan Paul is a good heel but that match with Owens was pretty bad. I was bored for the whole thing which isn’t good when you have Logan Paul and one of your best wrestlers going at it.

Men’s Rumble was boring. No surprises (Andrade doesn’t count everyone knew he was coming back), Cody won again, nothing really fun happened. Mostly felt like they were just going through the motions until Cody & Punk could square off.

Also it would have been better if Punk won and got to brag about upsetting The Story then Cody won the Elimination Chamber. A little picky sure but I think it would have made the story that much better. Cody hasn’t really faced any adversity since losing to Roman. He’s won every other feud he has been in.

Ah well. Still wasn’t an awful show or anything I guess I just expected more. That’s on me.

Definitely wasn’t a great show. I’ll grade it a pass since I’m so invested in the Cody deal, and was surprised he won, so that was cool. But I came away from the men’s Rumble thinking it could have done with some of the fatal four way competitors in it, especially after they lost Brock. Was just a pretty forgettable match. The women’s match was more interesting. Jade Cargill looked really good. Time will tell if she looks good in ordinary matches, but she looked really polished to me. Nia Jax is one of the most disproportionately pushed talents of all time, I mean she completely sucks, but the whole deal got Jade over and was nicely done.

I don’t need to see Solo save Roman with interference again. Not only is it repetitive, it makes WWE management look stupid when they don’t do anything to stop it. We said last year after WrestleMania that time will tell if this Tribal Chief story has gone on a year too long. The answer is now definitive - it has.

I wish I could have joined this live with you, but I'm watching on delay and trying to make it through the women's rumble, it would be better to have less entrants if you don't have the quality to fill the slots with some meaning.

I don't like Nia Jax and the other fat one is even less interesting.

This match is hard to watch and lacks chemistry, so far the girl getting accidentally hit so many times was the highlight.
I don't watch much wrestling these days but the guy on special comments knows less than me...

The WWE needs to have a look at the UFC for getting the balance between action and filler. The entrances for the fatal four way were obnoxiously long... I can't do this, I'm out I will read the thread to get the gist of the rest of the matches.

They've gotta fill that time somehow....

Perhaps with Sika always making the save and Roman matches rarely if ever ending clean they will make The Rock the special referee or enforcer for this match to keep all the bullshit out. It’s a way to involve him practically while continuing a story with Roman that can culminate at Summerslam or next Mania.

I just don’t want a Triple Threat. It cheapens the Rumble win and story. Let Cody take the title off Roman and build to Rock/Roman which doesn’t need the belt at all.

I enjoyed the women's rumble match, especially with Chelsea Green going all Weekend at Bernie's. It was great seeing Jade Cargill in the match, I enjoyed her in AEW, and I'm excited to see what she brings to the table in WWE. It is the same with seeing Liv back, although underwhelming to see her single-handedly eliminate Cargill by herself, still though, it's great to have her back.

It would be fine if they filled the rumble with full timers but they don’t even do that. Chad Gable doesn’t get a spot but Pat McAfee does? Is Omos full time? I never see him anymore.

Match could have just been better booked is all. Like I said last night, it felt like they were just filling time until Punk & Cody could be the final two. Gotta do better filling those first 60 minutes because the finish was great.

I was hoping Chelsea would just lie unconscious at ringside for the rest of the match. She was hilarious. Aside from Jade Cargill she was the highlight of the women’s rumble for me.

As they should.  She had a really good showing. The announcers put her over and mentioned TNA a lot. 

Overall the RR was good.  It had some fun moments.

R Truth was awesome in both Rumbles.
Chelsea being at the wrong place at the right time was fun.

I should mention, I love that Baker is on board with Nia Jax. You love to see it.

Also, Tiffy Time being in the rumble was great, I can't wait for Stratton to be on the main roster, absolutely one of my favourites in the game today.

People were talking about the botched body slam spot, but the thing I picked up on most with Jax was a kick she threw a bit after that. I actually think it might be the worst kick in professional wrestling history. She is utterly dreadful.

Agreed with everything, especially the last. Somehow WWE have made Roman Reigns and his historic reign one of the dullest, most predictable thing in the company. I was against Sami winning at EC and (slightly less) against Cody winning at last year's Mania, but now I wish Cody had just won last year so we didn't have to repeat the exact same story a year later.

The Bloodline story from Sami joining (even before that) to EC/Mania last year is like Seasons 1-5 Game of Thrones. Everything since then - Seasons 6-8.

I still think WWE’s main event scene has been a fucking disaster since they unified the belts a few years back. I still cannot stress how dumb it is there’s an “Undisputed” title and a WWE World Heavyweight Championship (which is the name of one of the two belts captured in the “Undisputed” title).

For real, multiple titles for all the divisions kind of demeans all of it. I get the roster is a bit bloated right now but I’ll never understand why they can have the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION and elevate/use the IC title as a pseudo main event spot…. Like they did more much of the old days.

Brings some meaning back to that belt as well.

Watching last night it felt like everyone had some sort of belt. And is there two tag belts for each gender?

As much as I don’t care for him, this Gunther guy having the massive reign he’s had is a perfect launching point. He’s represented the belt as well as you could ask for.
