If reps are important, then send her to the PC every day until she can work. She can wrestle 10 matches a day there with the best coaches in the world, and when she's TV ready... NXT. They've got the best educational facilities in wrestling and it blows my mind they aren't utilising it. This is what they did with Jade. Sent her to the Dungeon to drill with Nattie. I expect by the time we next see her she will be a totally different wrestler. Anyone that followed her in AEW could see she was not fully trained and it limited her hard as matches got longer. She really could not chain and matches were spot, break, spot, break. Footage shared at the Dungeon she was already a shitload better working smooth move to move in the short clips. Likely still go time before she works a program, but when she does come in, she will be ready to become a mainstay star on TV. This is how shit should be for everyone. Outside of Japan, this is the single best training school in the world. People should grind there until they are ready, and if they do not, just release them and fill the spot with someone else. And anyone can head up with Nattie in the Dungeon it seems to just get more practice. Or go to any of the schools various WWE people set up and just practice with people in the ring.

Seen Punk, Joe, Danielson and others get don't come back chants. Sometimes fans are just ruthless. Got to be able to fight through it and prove yourself. Fans always hate new people.

I just don't get why you get so into it like that as a fan of something as prefixed as wrestling that because a 5 minute match didn't do wonders for you that you have to lay it in on the wrestler whose probably exhausted as heck the way this guy did. Like was this guy's day ruined because of a Maxxine Dupri match?

While we were having this conversation, Julia Hart got savagely booed in AEW for giving a weakass, pathetic looking belt shot in AEW.
Sometimes the fans just are not in a forgiven move.
In Julia's defense, her hand is fucked up and they are covering for it, so she could not really go all in for the shot.

Have we as wrestling fans, become accustomed to mediocrity?
Very few, if any entertainment or sporting industries would tolerate a bad performance at the business end of the industry. Especially repeated ones.
And certainly there's a difference in expectations if you were to compare an actor on The West End or Broadway to someone performing at the local civic centre.
Similar you'd expect to see some awful matches on the independents as experience and skill isn't necessarily there yet, or never was or will be. But at at the top end of the business in WWE & AEW then you expect to see a particular level of competency and professionalism.

To stimulate the discussion, is this an example of that toxic positivity that dex02 was talking about? Maxine is clearly not good at wrestling (potential not yet anyway) and she is being defended because she's trying hard and is a lovely person. It's a failing on WWE's behalf not to ensure she is competent in the ring, for 3 reasons. Number one being safety. Her own and the people she's working with. The second being her own well being. You don't want to disencourage someone with a lot of potential to be a great on screen personality into leaving the business because of some potentially bad experiences. She gets beat up or the wear and tear adds up from bad form and on top of that (a segue) copping negative feedback from the audience. People pay to see a live show, a good one usually. This is reason number 3. As many have said, if you pay for a ticket you have the right to boo and cheer who you want. Imagine paying to see a band and the drummer doesn't know how to drum. You'd be annoyed. And rightfully so. If reps are important, then send her to the PC every day until she can work. She can wrestle 10 matches a day there with the best coaches in the world, and when she's TV ready... NXT. They've got the best educational facilities in wrestling and it blows my mind they aren't utilising it. I feel bad for her but this x 1000. The Powers that Be have set her up to fail. The fans booing are their way of letting the brass know she's drowning and to do something. Some of the jeers were harsh which is where we saw the outpouring of support, but there's a slippery slope from support to the toxic positivity we're talking about in this thread. First and foremost it's safety: hers and her opponents. They have some of the worlds best trainers and facilities. It boggles the mind that in the days they have the PC that she is being forced to wrestle before she's ready, but then the did the same thing with Eva Marie and a few others. Also I'm with whoever said that not all valets have to wrestle. Some of the best managers weren't wrestlers, but personalities. I just think they are trying to always catch lightning in a bottle like Trish but she was one in a million.

I agree about valets not needing to be great wrestlers but I wonder if this is Dupri trying to show versatility to the company to get her off the chopping block and/or show management she is due for a payraise next go around. Fair or unfair, you have to think as a performer "What can you do differently that adds value to your employer where you aren't deemed expendable?" because nobody is above the machine and they will replace you if you aren't checking off the boxes they want from you.
They had Nia Jax wrestle in the main event of their last PPV so the idea of "safety of the talent" sort of goes out the window when Jax never showed any real growth in that regard.

Giving someone a licence to drive a car who has barely driven a car is different to someone doing burnouts in the parking lot and mounting a curb in their Mustang.
Both are safety issues. But they come from different places. Nia Jax can work, but she chooses to be unsafe. Throwing live grenades at Becky being the example. Or getting stiff with Charlotte, or trying to murder Sane 15 different times. These are choices being made.

But not once is the topic of Jax being sent down to NXT or being released brought up but Dupri despite barely getting any time in development is the one who some want completely gone off TV and or the company in ring. I just think it's a quickie match that's a throwaway, fans would have been better going to the concession stand or using the bathroom over booing some girl trying her best out there given the circumstances but that's just me. If yelling directly at someone he's never met before made that fan's day that this went viral then he was entertained for the price of admission I guess.

People have been calling for Nia to be released for years due to her ability in the ring.

System be buying enough of her merch to stop that train. My brother stole my Nia Jax shirt then had the audacity to upload a selfie with said shirt. Several years later I got it back, I was determined
