Ospreay would be Ricochet 2.0 in the WWE and I think he sees that being his role. Maybe in a few years when the bumps take their toll he might go to WWE as a retirement home sort of thing but I assume he's handling his financials well.
I also think whether WWE meant to or not, Logan Paul has become the WWE version of him anyway. Same haircut, same arrogance and can hit pretty wicked spots when called upon.

Christian vs Garcia and Danielson vs Kingston were both fantastic matches. Outstanding work from everyone involved.
Toni vs Deonna was disappointing.
Sting had a glorious match for his send-off, but it won't surprise anyone to say that I didn't like it. I'm not saying it was a bad match, in fact it was perfect for what it was meant to be, just not a match for me. It really sums up Sting's AEW run - a old legend wrestler who is literally invincible, the most invincible wrestler who ever lived. But he can sure move and bump pretty well for however old he is. I was impressed. He's a class act too, his final words were cool.
What I really want to talk about is Ospreay vs Takeshita. Are we really talking about Ospreay like it's 2014, calling him a spot monkey and judging his matches based on one out-of-context gif? I will concede the match did have a couple of ridiculous sequences, which is why I rate it slightly below the two opening matches, but for the most part it was a mid-paced contest between two incredible athletes.

He is one of the favorite targets of the Cornette crowd. They are like waiting for him to cripple someone so they can celebrating warning everyone about how dangerous he is.
So weird that people are like getting hostile if you mention the Darby bump was on sugar glass and not plate glass. There is a weird ass assumption that sugar glass cannot cut you and dissolves with contact on your skin clearly from people who never seen or eaten rock candy. Like the glass was not even clear, the telltale sign.

Just leave it at that and ignore the haters that will just complain about anything for the sake of it.

Those of us that watched more than one or two of his NJPW matches know the truth. If people stick with it and watch his AEW run they will realize he is more than a flashy spot guy. He’s the total package now and has been for at least a few years now. But I get where others are coming from, just so long as if they are going to complain about Ospreay & Takeshita no-selling spots they also complain about Sting no-selling a table and two EVP Triggers. Yeah it was his last match but he has done that his entire AEW run.

I loved last night. I also think the sugar glass spot was not only really smart, but assume Freedoms will be stealing it as Darby was a bloody mess, but outside of the two gashes on his back and elbow, did almost no real damages. The tiny slivers of sugar glass left would melt out in a hot shower, real glass you get the tweezers.
I find it funny all the people who bitch about selling, generally love Hulk's hulking up spot. Or in WWE big matches kicking of out of finishers at 1. For people who claim to be the experts on psychology, they do not get that fans have different expectations depending on who is wrestling in matches. Only egotists assume everyone, everywhere will be working like it is SMW.
