What are your favorites? Do you drink it often, don't touch it at all?
It has been a lifelong struggle for me. Addicted at an early age and for a good chunk of my life it was all I drank really. There's no way I'm alive in 15 years. Bet. I've tried to quit it cold turkey, over the years I've tried to wean myself off it. Strict with my purchases I've managed a "schedule" that always gets broken but I've been consistent lately. Prices have me shifting away from Pepsi towards Faygo. If I go to a fast food place I get Pepsi if it's a Pepsi(Yum Brand) place, if they're Coke Fanta Orange. I drink other things and try to at least get 4 bottles of water at work, but yeah I've been a lifelong soda drinker it is my vice and I have the dental work to prove it. Every time I get a cavity I'm reminded of a line in a Taylor Tomlinson special "this is my lesson that I can't seem to learn"
Always hated Mountain Dew. I can't stand canned/bottle coke. Only drink if if parents take me to a sitdown chain. Mostly Pepsi fan. Sprite is good. 7up is less consistent. Root beer on occasion. I didn't branch out to the midcarders too much.

Drank Pepsi Max regularly until about the fall. Got a water filter to drink my tap water and swapped to that instead. Dropped 40 pounds in like four months since I stopped.
Drink ginger ale on occasion now when my stomach is acting up and wants carbonation and just do energy shots for caffeine. I get a box wine style box of the shit.

My usual go to now is Pepsi Zero Sugar (It's still called Max in Europe). But recently, they came out with a new lime flavored Zero. And I've been drinking that as long as it's been around.

Don't drink it much nowadays. I'm a Coke guy when I do. Pepsi is fine if they don't have Coke. I'm not that picky. Drank a fair amount of Root Beer in my youth. Haven't touched the stuff in a decade or two though. Ginger Ale was mostly a sick thing. Haven't touched that in a decade or two either. My mom was a notorious penny pincher so she bought a lot of off brand cola when we were growing up. I was honestly fine with that stuff. Remember a lot of kids in school bringing knockoff brand soda to lunch as well. Were we all poor? Idk probably. But 22 cents for a can of Shasta at Value Food was a heck of a deal. Oh, and Diet Anything is yucky.

Good old fashion leaded Coca Cola.
I also don't mind an original Sprite and Solo, which is an Australian lemon soft drink. I'm not sure if the other Aussies have heard of it, but " River Port " make a fantastic Creamy Soda, and a Portello.

I haven't drank soda in over a decade. Before that I was a Coca Cola addict, like a lot of people. I'm happy I quit. Water and fruit juice, that's all I need for a cold non-alcoholic drink.

I drink one can of Pepsi per day at lunch. The rare Mountain Dew or Sprite/7up is also consumed. Even rarer Orange Crush or Grape Crush. If I'm out and about I'll happily drink Coke if there's no Pepsi but given the option it's Pepsi every time. My favourite drink though is Squirt, which was discontinued in Canada for some reason like 25 years ago. So I ration my stash and always make sure to grab a few cases when I'm in the States. And Baker is correct. Anything diet is vile. Never enjoyed Dr Pepper. Root beer is the worst concoction known to man. Cream soda can be decent as long as it's not blue or pink.

I love soda. I would drink a ton when I was younger. Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper were my favorites but everything was good. When I got older I switched to diet to cut down on sugar. We would get 2L bottles of the Kroger brand because it was much cheaper than name brand and good approximations of Mountain Dew and cherry cola. After lockdown I cut the morning soda for coffee to get caffeine. I’m not a coffee fan, it’s fine and gets the job done. At lunch I’ll have diet soda. I’m in San Jose right now. Maybe it’s just the restaurants I’ve been to, but they only served soda in cans, even in sit down restaurants. And it’s $3.50-$5 a can. I saw a hobo with a Big Gulp from 7-11 so I know some places have fountain drinks, but maybe just not restaurants and bars.

I have a Coke addiction...a Coke A Cola addiction, but I've managed to wean myself off.
I used to drink very little pop/soda (other than tonic). Then about a couple years ago I started having a Coke-a-Cola every day. It was leading to a twice a day thing when I realized I had to cut it off cold turkey, so now I have maybe 2 Coke's in a whole month, usually if I'm out and not drinking. I still have a hard time eating pizza without a Coke. They just go so well together. Sigh.

Back on topic, gave up soda in high school around 10th grade, so around 15 years old, I guess. Pretty much cold turkey, said one day "soda makes you fat, I don't want to be fat anymore" and while it didn't cure my fatness I switched to water and that was that.
Not like I've never had a drop of soda since but it's very infrequent. Usually when it's something I've never had before and will give a try; a local burger chain has their own branded black cherry or root beer and sure, I'll see how those taste
Odd thing: give up soda for a couple of months, then go back to drink Coke and all of a sudden it has all sorts of subtle flavors again. It's new to your palette once again, so you can taste everything.
And it depends on the restaurants you go to. For the most part, small mom and pop/hole in the wall restaurants don't want to pay for fountain drink setups; having to buy and mount syrup canisters and routing water lines and all, never mind cleaning them however often they're supposed to be cleaned. It's easier to charge for a can or bottle and call it a day.

Was there ever a defunct cola that any of you liked?
My favorite pop that no longer exists, was Diet Pepsi Jazz.
I believe the flavors they had for it was Cherry Vanilla, Vanilla Caramel, and my personal favorite, Strawberries & Cream.
It was a different flavor for Pepsi, and I enjoyed it for the short time it was around.

It tasted like a suicide mix. Michinokudriver My friend worked on a movie that premiered at Cinequest in downtown San Jose so I went to support him.
