Not sure how much discussion this will generate, but I figured we may as well keep all the Mario news to one thread.

The first thing is release dates for... Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (May 23rd, 2024), and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (June 27th, 2024).

A new animated Mario movie was announced for 2026, I loved the first one, and I'm super pumped for a sequel.

Nintendo Switch Online update for March 12th, with the following games... Dr. Mario (GB), Mario Golf (GBC), and of course, Mario Tennis (GBC), are being added to the service.

Haven't turned on my switch in a while. Today seems like a good day for some Mario 3.

To follow up on @ness' post, are you guys planning on playing any Mario games for Mario Day? What's your favourite Mario Party game? Or in general, your favourite Mario spin-off game? Or for that matter, your favorite main series game? Is Mario Sunshine as bad as people say it is, or is its reputation unjustified in your opinion?

Mario Party 3 is my favorite. Used to play the last Wii one with the family, the one that had like a monopoly style board building hotels (except when they got robbed...). 2001-2005 we played a ton of N64 party games (Kart, Party, SSB, No Mercy, Tennis), it really was the king in that regard.

Been watching a ton of Kaizo shorts over the past year. Reminds me that I basically never used the spin jump in SMW.

I didn't invent it, Mario Day has been a thing for a while now.

Somehow it was the first time I've heard of it so I didn't think it was a thing.

Very random of Nintendo to just drop this with no real buildup. I own Luigi's Mansion 2 for 3DS so not really interested in it but good that it's on the system, they need to find a way to get the original now on the Switch, seems like a wacky way they did it with the series there. I played Luigi's Mansion on the 3DS, very awkward controlling on the handheld. Final boss was a frustrating fit.

May was looking kinda dead off the top of my head sans Hellblade 2 so Thousand Year Door remake could make a killing that month.
