In the original SSB, Fox was one of my top guys. Enough where I would taunt Dad/bro by doing F. O. X. like RVD. Total mark shit. That said I never really got into him as a GAME. All anyone cares about is the first 2, which is really one game remade. Maybe his story is finished since all his other entries flopped. Some people appreciate Adventures, but accept that Fox was pretty much added to a mostly done game. It's just the first game that's been remade TWICE to raved reviews. The others ones aren't really bad so much as ignored. Like you never run into anyone that WANTS a new Starfox game. Or am I wrong?
Was this series "over" or nah?

Was great for its time, but just doesn’t really work anymore, and updated attempts just haven’t worked out.

Star Fox has some cool lore behind it with the pilots, Star Wolf vs Star Fox, Fox McCloud's dad James getting betrayed by his right hand man in Pigma who ends up joining Star Wolf/Andross's team to try and eliminate Fox's, Peppy being a mentor figure for Fox etc.
The Corneria theme is a top 10 Nintendo theme, always slaps no matter the reiteration.
The game could still work in gaming today, Ace Combat which is the other rails on shooter has had a nice comeback lately. Platinum didn't put a good effort with the last Star Fox game(Star Fox Zero) as it relied too much on the Wii U's gimmick but if given in the right hands, much like with the F-Zero series, can absolutely make a killing.
People who cry foul about Samus & Metroid need to take a nice look at F-Zero and Star Fox on franchises that can't get above water by Nintendo. Would be dope to see one of these two franchises be a launch game for the new Switch

I heard whatever the last Starfox game was had absolutely awful controls that ruined it for everyone.

I heard whatever the last Starfox game was had absolutely awful controls that ruined it for everyone. Star Fox Zero suffered from the Wii U gimmick where you had to pay attention to the gamepad down low just as much as you had to on the TV. Bunch of other choices Platinum made as well that led to it not doing so well, it was also thrown somewhat late into the system's lifespan. One of the very few Wii U exclusive titles left. Never played it but for a game that is demanding that you're on point with what's going on screen, that seems infuriating to force players to look back and forth. Also think there was touch motion involved with the game which didn't help, think gyro controls.

Star Fox Adventures seems like a cult hit, another one I never got to play since it was a Gamecube game. It did bring the introduction to the character above in Krystal who is basically this series Amy Rose. One of the main players of the Furry phenomenon in gaming along with Sonic the Hedgehog. Think she has a love/hate relationship due to this but because she has become a staple Team Fox McCloud pilot/love interest of Fox. The diehards of this series want Fox/Peppy/Skippy/Falco "Vince" Lombardi and no one else, the core four. Think over time, Krystal has fit in though. She's been in every Star Fox game released after Adventures so she's not going anywhere. Star Fox Adventures was meant to be Dinosaur Planet and was never meant to have any Lylat Wars/Star Fox stuff at all.

Krystal was, at least prior to Brawl, a big want for SSB. Never happened because we had to make room for 80 sword people.
