Something I noticed during the Rumble and been irking me since is WWE has a serious music problem. Most entrances sound so much alike that in the rumble it was hard to tell at times who was coming out. Seems all the new people are stuck with the same generic synthpop style entrance music, and only the vets are getting like rock music. No creativity is put into the new music either, like in the old days the music had samples like "you think you know me", "what does everybody want" or "want some is this on." Now nothing, just generic music and out you go.
Like what the hell happened? WWE music used to be top in class for wrestling entrances and almost all was done in house. Attitude era was so much variety that everyone had really a district sound. Now it is synthpop or outside generic rock. Like they are not even really competing with Mikey Rukus's AEW stuff, which is sad given he is copying the old WWE style as a massive wrestling fan.

Yeah I agree. This was brought up in the Rumble live thread and I was glad, because I’ve not been watching full shows right now just YouTube catch up and I thought that’s why I was struggling to figure out who was who with the music. Def rebel seem to have a higher rate of misses, but have put out some good stuff.
Is it me or are entrance music intros getting longer and longer? I also think some are getting a bit unnecessary like Charlotte’s latest update.

WWE is focusing more and more on the entrances and promos and deemphasizing the matches on TV it feels like. This is the whole sports entertainment vs wrestling stuff that is talked about. Forget where the numbers are for it all, but someone on reddit broke down the times awhile back. And it makes sense as WWE sells itself not as a wrestling product but a spectacle, and the entrances are part of that product. Can get some of these guys wrestling elsewhere after their WWE runs, but never with the WWE entrances and all the pomp and circumstance that goes with them.
