Danny Gokey went all in. I had UK in my final 4 so my bracket's donezo(Happens every year I lose one of my final 4 in the 1st round). Felt like I missed more than I got today, disaster but I love the upsets.

I had Auburn losing in the Sweet 16 at least. I almost picked Yale too. They won the Ivy League and I was reading some people saying that they might surprise some teams. Oh well. Watching upsets is always fun either way.

I used to do a March Madness bracket with my dad and his fire crew. Everyone threw in $5 and the winner got the pot, second got their $5 back. It was like $100 the first year I joined (other sons, friends, etc joined too, not just the crew) and I picked Gonzaga to go to the final four because I thought the name was funny.

They didn’t make it that far but it was their breakout year and I crushed everyone because nobody else picked them. Pure dumb luck.

My dad brought the pot home once everyone else was mathematically eliminated and he handed me $50. I’m like “where’s the rest?” and he goes “dad tax,” and pocketed the rest. :lol:

EDIT: I just looked it up and it was the 1999 tournament. They were a 10 seed and made it to the Elite 8. I had them in the Final Four but nobody else had them winning in the first round. I couldn’t show my face at the fire hall for weeks. :lol:

I had a non profit but bragging rights moment with Kemba and UConn the year they won it too. I told everyone they’d do it and they did and bang. Think I won the PW Madness Pool then too.

And there goes my pick to win it all. I didn't really think Arizona was good enough to take the whole thing, but I hoped they would at least make it far enough to appear in the Final Four in their home state. If they got that far then anything was possible. I thought that would be really cool to see. And I know the entire place was rooting for them. The hype was real even 3-4 months ago when I was there.
