It's Selection Sunday!

And in a semi-break from tradition, we're gonna look at both the men's and women's tournaments.  After all, there has been as much, if not more attention put on the women's game this year.

And why not?  We saw the return of Paige Bueckers at UConn.  The simmering feud between the last two National Champs,  LSU and South Carolina.  And the meteoric rise and peak of college basketball's all time leading scorer, Iowa's Caitlin Clark.  Those four teams, as well as Ohio State and Nebraska are considered the top favorites to win it all.

As for the men, there's no true favorite this year.  But watch out for teams like Houston, Purdue, and of course, the Blue Bloods.

Not too surprised as some thought they'd make it with a high NET but to not even be in the last 4 out is an joke. The Big East was the 2nd ranked conference and only 3 teams make it in, terrible. It's like the committee just said "Fuck it, our work here is done" after Thursday night because....FAU getting an 8 seed, Dayton getting an 7 seed and Mich St getting 9 seed is awful, especially when the 1st 2 teams didn't win their conferences or have a great resume all things considered. 

Houston got blown out by Iowa St yet Houston is a 1 in the South and Iowa St is a 2 in the UConn region. Virginia had awful metrics but still got last 4 in over the likes of Seton Hall, it's crazy.

Really poor job by the selection committee as a whole. The conference finishes meant absolutely nothing outside of an auto bid happening.

The one thing I just noticed on the women's bracket, is that both national finalists from last year, LSU and Iowa, could possibly meet in the regional final. Meaning, one of them is gonna amazingly miss out on the Final Four.

Virginia is struggling to score 30 points and we're almost at the 3/4 mark of the game. Yeah.

Virginia was an embarrassment to watch last night, but I bet against them so I was thrilled. Couldn’t bet the Wagner game because “can’t bet NY colleges” but happy for them.

As for tonight, I’m taking Grambling and Boise State.

I did my bracket the same way I do every year: complete guesses and flipping coins.

Picked Arizona to win it all in their home state. I was in Scottsdale when they announced the Final Four would be there and the hype was legit. It would be amazing if they went all the way, and they have a good shot this year.

Aaaand Arizona is tied with a 15 seed currently.

For some reason my stupid ass picked Creighton to lose. I don't know why. That was a pretty obvious easy pick and they will probably go on a deep run.

They've lost the Raiders and the Warriors, and are about to lose the A's. But Oakland still has the Golden Grizzlies.

John Callipari is literally the most overrated HC in college basketball.

How many times do his guys have to underwhelm in March? St Peters 2 years ago and now Oakland. He clearly doesn’t get his guys focused enough for these “cake walk” match ups. I mean having one guy hit 10 3s on you is a big deal but man. He seems to be on the wrong end of a lot of March Madness moments.
