Yo, we missed last week! Lony, you all healed up from surgery? How much nerdiness did you consume during your recovery? Hopefully lots of books, comics, movies, tv shows and no doubt video games. 

I've really been enjoying Tom King's Penguin series. The only reason why I read it was because it was Tom King, but it's given me a new appreciation for Penguin. Great so far! 

Fire Power came to an end. A Kirkman book I didn't really like. Started off fun but lost its way. 

March 20th is a big day! Not only is it Mrs. Foos' birthday, but X-Men 97 has some episodes drop. YEAH BOI

Also Invincible season 2 part 2 resumed. This show could end up being the top superhero animated show when it's all said and done. 

Got a couple of new shirts. Classic Cobra Commander, long sleeve. Also a great Cobra Kai shirt. Stike First. Strike Hard. No Mercy.

Finished She Hulk. Still in the middle of Gargoyles and heading into Ms Marvel.  Been watching specific X-Men Animated episodes. I tried to make it through some of Season 5 but it's so bad. Counting down until X-Men 97!!!  :cheer:

If X-Men 97 wasn't a direct continuation of season 5 I'd just tell everyone to skip it!

1st 2 Episodes have dropped! Feels very cohesive to the original even though almost 30 years have passed. Most of the voices are spot on and they kept original intro (yay) and added some characters like Bishop and Morph. I liked some of the nods to the original comic panels.

Not too sure of any major storyline right now except

Jean is pregnant. Magneto is 'in charge' but if they have Rogue end up with Magneto over Gambit Imma gonna be unimpressed. That's gross. Old balls.

Watched both episodes at lunch today. Brought me back to being an adolescent, I loved it. Wolverine's voice took a bit to not feel so jarring. But definitely love the long form storytelling that's happening.

Morph man...just not sold on him. It's neat seeing him shift into different X-Men during the fight scenes, but I'm having troubles understanding how he has some of their powers. Anyways, small gripe to an otherwise fantastic entry into X-Men TAS.

There's just so much material they can draw from for their stories, especially with an extra 30 years of story that wasn't there when they were originally making the show. Hope this sticks around for years!!

I plan on watching it after the kids go to bed. The youngest turns six today, so that is a higher priority.

X-Men 97 currently has a score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes for what that's worth. 

I couldn't wait, and watched both episodes yesterday. I loved that the intro and music was the same, with the addition of Bishop and Morph. The voices were spot on too, the actor they've got as Cyclops is great.

There is so much I want to see from this series, like Foos I hope it goes for a long time, X-Men has so many stories to tell and I hope they get that chance.

Like iron maiden though, my biggest issue is:

Rogue and Magneto. I hated that storyline and I hate they're doing it here. Wrinkly old balls, yuck. Rogue and Gambit belong together, period and I'll die on that hill.

I really wish they did not use Draven for The Crow, or the Crow at all, as otherwise looks like a good revenge film. But does not work at all as a Crow film. let alone, one doing Draven. Most people involved in the first film denounced the remake as did the writer of the comic.  Long of the short was the first film was good enough a new adaptation was not needed, and Lee should be remembered for bringing Draven to life.

3 Body Problem now on netflix. Book took a Hugo award and was considered must read modern sci-fi.  Fantastic story.  Very creative and a great story of the dangers of the modern era.

I think they would have saved themselves a lot of trouble just by calling him literally anything else, Draven should have been saved for the original. The franchise begets as many different names as you can think of, the Crow comes back, finishes business, then returns to the grave.

Nope not really to answer the question. Got some invincible trades to catch up on. Other than that I haven’t read a superhero book in months. I’m on hiatus I guess you’d say. No budget or space anymore. And honestly can’t keep up downloading… so I’m just checking things out in small doses and reading more novels, and history, and other hobbies.

And I don’t really talk nerd stuff on the internet anymore. I mean i will one on one with folks I know. But I just don’t do well in discussions anymore. Mostly cause I largely don’t care what most people like, or think at all. There are opinions I like and respect here. It’s why I will always drop in and see what those people are into right now. I’ve gotten good stuff more times than not from that.

I think morph is a Sinister plant. The opening credits sinisters face flashes behind morph…



But yeah I dug the shit out of it.



The rougue magneto thing didn’t bug me… I remember not being keen on it in the comics… but uh the person at the door… see above bad guy and clones, and what not…

I don’t know how to do spoilers but as for your take on magnetos aged testicular area… don’t knock it til you try it. Some of us old fellas are aging like a fine wine. I mean Not me but some of us…

Just watched the new film and loved it.  I assume if people liked Afterlife they will love this.  Sadly reviews could make this is the end of this run of films.

All on board for X-Men 97. Voices took just a little getting used to (even the original VA's who were brought back are still 30 years older than they were, after all, and can only hide it so well) but otherwise it looks like it was made with care and love and I'm hyped.

also, like Spotty, haven't read a good ol' superhero book in forever. Monthly floppies/weekly trips to the ol' comic shop and I are a thing of the past, most likely, and I'm having a hard time accepting it
