Good job Cody.
My kid is going to lose his mind. Cody is his favourite and the only other 2 wrestlers he can name by recognition are John Cena and The Rock. I can't wait to watch it with him this week.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cody and the WWE can keep this momentum going.
It’s easy to build and finish the story and get people invested but starting over can be really hard.
Dark memories of Daniel Bryan going from absolute star to wrestling Kane and killing all the momentum.
I’m hoping they do. Wrestling is great when it’s like this.

Undertaker was so random but I went nuts when I heard the GONG. Especially considering I was expecting the glass to shatter.
Fun match. Fun weekend.

TK should have let Dustin be there, that's crazy. Not sure if this is a photoshopped or not but gotta take that back if so. Dustin and some future WWE superstar in the press boxes.

It's a good 1st year WM under HHH honestly. Very enjoyable 2 days and if you count NXT's show, it's 3 solid PPVs. The RAW after WM gotta keep it up though. Last year's was a complete bomb, wonder who the surprises are(If any).

It’s going to be hard to sleep tonight. Yeah man I’m pumped. Last time I was this happy for a title win was when Kenny Omega finally beat Okada. This might even beat Hangman’s first title win for me. It’s damn close. I’m a bit curious why Austin didn’t appear. Nothing against Taker, that was still amazing to see, but Rock & Austin are like Luke & Vader. Batman & Joker. I wonder why he turned it down because they for sure at least asked him if he wanted to do it.

Yeah I’m not going to nitpick because it was still a ton of fun and the gong coming was unexpected and cool. It just seemed like it made so much more sense that it was Austin and as you said - it had to have been Steve who said no because I don’t see them not offering that spot to him. I marked so hard too when I heard SHIELD as I absolutely love them. That was a great and overlooked touch.

To paraphrase someone on the socials.. his matches may have been overbooked, his attendance inconsistent and it felt like he held that title forever, but there goes the greatest World Champion in history.
So much respect for Cody, for doing what only a few could of dreamed, and that was make us believe it was possible.
And Reigns, 3.5 years as Champion is an incredible feat that is never likely to be replicated again.

I've finally watched it in full, and what a phenomenonal match, what a phenomenonal moment. Fucking hell. This is wrestling.
Also, what a team. Absolute professionals. Hunter's leadership obviously has earned him a lot of respect. For Heyman to put him over is massive. And the comradery between everyone shows too. To see Cole, Pat, Punk, etc having so much fun is amazing. Megan, Jackie and pretty much the entire on screen team were superb all weekend too. Samantha is fantastic, and seeing her in tears announcing Cody as the winner speaks volumes, it felt like it wasn't just a win for Cody, but the entire WWE team.
You really feel like something changed last night.
Also...
" Feel that, Nash? Water got a little cold last night, hit an iceberg called WrestleMania.. "

Also shout out to Roman Reigns for making wrestling cool again.

After thinking it through,
- Austin *might* have overshadowed Cody's win by making it all about him, simply by being Stone Cold Steve Austin. To get your money's worth out of an Austin appearance, he's staying to celebrate with Cody (despite having nothing to do with him storyline-wise) and all the chants will be for him. Plus he may or may not stun everyone in the ring during his celebration, beers fly and glass shatters music instead of Kingdom
- Undertaker, while an out of left field choice, at least has something to do with Roman (who effectively retired him), which keeps it at least a Reigns-oriented story

I love that in kayfabe this could actually happen so Cody requested the help of The Undertaker instead of Steve Austin because of how unpredictable he is. "If Taker shows up he'll kill someone then disappear. If Austin shows up we might all get knocked out and drown in beer and I won't get to celebrate. Better play it safe."

If it wasn’t obvious that Sam Irvin was crying last night, here’s the video:
It’s been said a million times already but Samantha Irvin is quickly becoming one of the best announcers of all time. She’s so good. She looks like she has been waiting her whole career to do this:

In hindsight, the Thunderdome era was the best thing that ever happened to Roman. Absolutely. I think WWE in general benefitted from that weird period. It forced them to go back to their identity. Soap opera storytelling. People were also burnt out on WWE coming to town four times a year with the same old product. Fans missed going to shows because of Covid and I think it helped. Even now they run a (smart) reduced schedule.

Last night felt like a love letter to pro wrestling. That’s how you finish a story and usher in a new era.
Roman choosing to hit Rollins with the chair instead of Rhodes being what led to his demise was pure cinema. Beautiful call back.

She’s so good. She looks like she has been waiting her whole career to do this: I usually am not a fan of people breaking out of character due to wanting them to be unbiased but think I can make an exception for this. She pulled full duty both nights in bad weather(For Saturday), yeah she has to do introductions only but still that's a lot of shit to memorize and call. Energy has to be 100%, I was nearly dazing off on the Day 1 main event(Not the fault of the match just long day for me). She did great, mentioned it before but yeah she was absolutely feelin' it all weekend.

I love the way she announces Chelsea Green. Lol.
