History of Wrestling Draft April 2015

16 participants and 20 rounds for this one. I lost in the first round to UT . Tragic. UT may have went on to win the whole thing. Can't remember for sure. What I do remember about this draft is it took forever due to the guy running it refusing to do double picks in the late rounds. I think the Fan Fic Draft started a month later and I'm pretty sure it wrapped up before this snail paced draft was complete.

Yeah. But it's incomplete, I don't feel like looking for it, and I sure as heckfire don't feel like transferring it all to PW right now. Tell ya what. A few years ago I started posting some old draft results right here on Nu PW. I'll see if I can find those posts.

I even liked a post from RT on it just now where he said “Cody Rhodes sucks”.

KING KID I liked a few 5 year old posts as well. Found the notebook. It was right where I thought it would be. I recorded at least 5 more drafts in addition to the two already posted. Will transfer them over so long as interest exists. 

Also by looking through the thread I remembered Neo Zeed, and his Ronda Rousey meltdown.

I need to know if you still feel the same way about Ronda after her horrible dismissal from the WWE.

Thanks. I only requested temporary mod status because I didn't want to bother RT with moving multiple posts in multiple threads to create this one, but they decided to make it permanent. 

EDIT: Started working on transferring the 2015 Fanfic Draft over but something just came up and now I must go. I'm on pick #100...out of 379. It's a time-consuming endeavor. Hope to finish this one tonight.

2015 Fanfic Draft

As usual I only kept track of the draft order, my selections, and my card(s). My picks will be bolded. Will do my best to piece together when the rounds began and ended. It's complicated by missed picks. This draft ended 5 picks short. Somebody (think it was jTjohncenaGOAT ) ghosted halfway through.

Know I got bounced in the first round this time because I remember being bummed out about not getting to run the Eliminators/Midnight Express dream match I was saving for Round 2. Also don't remember who won the whole shebang. Gun to my head I'm guessing @wms because he usually did win these things back then. We had a whopping 24 participants draft, in theory, 16 wrestlers each.

Oh, and one for @ness . I also kept track of the overall wrestler draft standings (not posting it tho) and Austin-Michaels were 1-2 after the first two drafts just as I surmised last week. Damn I'm good.

I know everybody thought I had a meltdown but from my perspective it was super pissy that y’all wouldn’t even let me write out what I had planned like it was such a serious deal we had to shut it down instead of just voting against it if you didn’t like it. A fan FICTION draft= serious fucking business

I don’t like Rousey. In retrospect I should have rallied behind you so you’d waste that draft pick on her.

ECW Draft January 2016

Pretty sure this was a Neo Zeed idea. Entirely sure Kilgore won. Thought he beat me in the finals, but upon further review it appears I was bounced in Round Two. Think the plan was to draft strictly from the original ECW before we expanded it to include WWECW when turnout proved stronger than expected. 16 participants selected 12 wrestlers each. Doubt we'll ever get 16 participants for a PW project again. This draft is interesting because pure ECW guys were often (justifiably!) picked before much bigger mainstream stars. Due to missed picks I'll have to use logic to guess when certain rounds begin and end. Cannot vouch for 100% round accuracy, though the actual draft order is undeniably correct. Since I made the choice that I was booking things into an actual window of time (Fall of 1995 with Steve Austin never leaving ECW), Mikey made more sense, and was actually a high value draft pick where I got him (the ECW Heavyweight Champion in the 5th round!). That hype video I made for the finals was also chock full of Mikey (and no Sid), so I definitely drafted him and didn't get him in a steal. Someone must have missed a round with me picking Mikey 3rd instead of 4th that round (which is why you rightfully assumed Sid was in play!). 

Which reminds me, I must have gotten Raven and Mike Awesome in steals, too, as they made that vid. Did we start stealing 2 at a time, maybe?

2 steals at a time is the norm for these things. Can confirm that's how we did this one.

Missed picks are the bane of my existence when trying to put these together. To make matters worse, missed pick rules change from draft to draft. Sometimes the missee is forced to wait 'til the end. But other times we'll let them double up in the next round. Long story short, I can't for the life of me figure out your later round picks and it's really bothering me lol

I think it's Samoan Gangster Party! I think you inexplicably figured it out! I went really Tag Team heavy (Gangstas, PE, Badd Company), it makes sense for 1995, gotta be it. 

Kilgore I might have finally cracked the case once and for all. Would you have drafted Rick Steiner without Scott? If so, I’ve got this.

Only with permission from whoever drafted Scott. Then maybe? Which would still be an odd choice (maybe with hope of stealing Scott at a later date for the tag division?). But plausible under those conditions!
