I actually complained via email about my recent milkshake experience. I think I've only ever actually complained one other time in my life - when some woman working at a KFC, forgot half the meal, and then pretended we ate all of it in the 10 seconds it took walk to the table and refused to give us our meal or money back. It resulted in a gift card.
Anyway, I received the same email I'd probably send that " we are retraining " their management, and I was right.

With how much the ice cream machine is a meme, I'm surprised people are still bothering to ask.

I don't know if it's the same situation in America but I believe here they abandoned the McFlurry machines because customers always used to complain that there wasn't enough topping when it was mixed through. So you just get a sundae with the topping dumped on the top, which is a far inferior eating experience, especially now we are subject to cardboard cutlery.

The cardboard has ruined the experience, the straws are the worst. It's amazing if you like the taste of Reflex Paper, but you know... most of us don't.

I am personally willing to have 2-3 sea turtles die per year if it means I get plastic straws and spoons.

Toilet seat covers, plastic utensils, straws, bags and even Styrofoam! You should have seen us squirreling away the plastic bags we got in Vegas. They are like gold here.

The best thing about Supermarkets replacing plastic bags with paper... I always have an alternative to kindling for the fire pit.

Dude I haven't seen paper bags since middle school and only because we had to cover our books. I know certain areas have banned them outright or charge a dime for them. As we edge closer to an online warehouse model I wonder if orders will just be bundled in cardboard boxes like @ costco.

We went from plastic bags, then the retailers started charging for them because " climate change " but the reality was, a pallet of bags costs nearly $2,000 and when stores are going through one or two a month, that adds up. Then now to tote bags and paper.... both you have to pay for.
The paper does offer a bit of form, that's probably the only good thing.

We only have paper or reusable bags at stores now. We get our Chefs plate in paper bags so I reuse those for cat litter. I reuse grocery brown bags for garbage because they are bigger.
I think we are going to start using wood pellets for the cats. Biodegradable, cheaper, lighter and no smell. Win-win.

Cloth bag guy here 🙋 Paper is pretty shit for groceries, you put anything remotely heavy like a bottle of milk in there and it rips.

My young cat is fastidious, and unlike the older cat, we learned quickly he needs his litter cleaned regularly. So now it's once per day (Ugh). So I use doggy poop bags for the cat litter.

I could probably get behind the reusable ones they sell simply because I use scan as I go when I shop so I just dump it in my trunk and then load it into bags when I get home.

I tried to toilet train them, used walnut litter, corn litter, etc. No go. So this will be my last attempt at trying to be environmentally friendly with my cat litter. Plus putting the litter on top keeps the hobos out of our garbage.

Is a paper straw worse than no straw? When they forget and you don't notice that's always the worst.

Slurpees have really gone downhill with the paper straw. Smoothies too, but not as bad because such different consistencies. I imagine milkshakes too, but I'm lactose intolerant so I can't say I go out and buy them.

I'm the person with 10000 reusable bags in my car and who forgets them every.time. I have absolutely no idea why that be and that doesn't sound exactly like me at all. I also own multiple phone chargers and headphones for similar reasons. With many of my possessions it seems I don't own them, I just have several different versions of each item that disappear from my known universe before reappearing at random times.

Is there a point when you're too old for McDonald's? Or fast food in general?
I remember as a kid, we rarely went to McDonald's and particularly my Dad would take us to a locals only type burger joint or fish & chip shop instead. But then again, this was the early 1990s, and the early 90s around here still felt like the late 70s and there was a lot less commercialisation. But even today, he'll only go to a McDonald's if he's travelling and wants a coffee.

It's been a month, hardly much passage in time but I have noticed my fast food consumption has gone down quite a bit. If you consider chain pizza fast food I pretty much have limited myself to a weekly Dominos run since it runs the same price as any combo and I'm getting 2 mediums, otherwise nothing. Even at work when I'd usually sneak to a few places when I'm out and about I've resisted. No apps on my phone to tempt me. Not saying I'll never go back, I'm sure I'll have broken the drive thru streak in a month from this post... but I'm starting to just get used to the idea.

You want to talk about the end of an era? After 32 years, Cartoon Network shuttered its doors in the states. My girls have never watched the Cartoon Network, they have no concept of having to wait until a certain time to watch a particular show. I do love my girls, but all of these tendencies lead to a mindset of instant gratification.
