LIVE! from The Las Vegas Sphere
EWW World Heavyweight Championship
Bret "The Hitman" Hart (c) vs. Kenny Omega
Two of Canada's best to ever step foot in the ring will finally cross paths for EWW's biggest prize. This match has been years in the making; Bret Hart, arguably the greatest wrestler of all-time, dominating the competition at every turn and enjoying a long, well-earned reign on top of the world, and Kenny Omega, a young man from Winnipeg who has toured the world and stunned the globe with his explosivity and creativity in the ring. After climbing up the ranks, Omega has earned a shot at his idol, and will stop at nothing to prove that he belongs in the history books.
Co-Main Event - The Icon vs. The Ace
Sting vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi
The man known as Sting has done it all and is on the back nine of his career, but wants to go out on his terms and fight the very best the world has to offer. Sting laid down an open challenge for Las Vegas, and was answered by someone he has never fought, but someone who has had just as storied a career across the Pacific Ocean: The Ace of New Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi. There are no words.
EWW Tag Team Championship - Ladder Match
The Young Bucks (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin & Booker T
The Young Bucks have enjoyed a long reign as tag team champions but may have their work cut out for them after Shelton Benjamin and Booker T teamed up, decided they were done with the Bucks' antics, and climbed the ranks to not only earn a title shot and shut their mouths, but demanded that they fight in the Bucks' signature match.
Special Tag Team Match
Chyna & Jade Cargill vs. Bull Nakano & Asuka
Ahead of the Round Robin tournament for the vacant EWW Women's Championship, the four participants must learn to get along (sort of) in a special tag team match that will see the 9th and 10th wonders of the world, Chyna & Jade Cargill, team up to face the pride of Japan, Bull Nakano & Asuka. This is going to be an absolute barn burner, and these women will be looking to score some points ahead of the tournament in one way or another.
EWW Openweight Championship
Rob Van Dam (c) vs. Malakai Black
EWW's second-most prestigious belt has seen some incredible matches as of late, and attracted the eye of the mysterious Malakai Black. He has lurked in the shadows for months, taunting the entire EWW roster and promising to begin his reign of terror with a target of his choosing. He made his target known two weeks ago when he appeared in the ring behind Rob Van Dam and spit black mist in his face. Malakai disappeared as quickly as he appeared, and has not been seen since the attack, aside from ambiguous vignettes taunting RVD, promising to take his Openweight Championship and use it as a stepping stone to glory.
Bull Rope Match
Jon Moxley vs. "Hangman" Adam Page
There's nothing to add to this match. Two of the toughest SOB's in EWW, and two former World Heavyweight Champions, have decided they don't like each other, and are gonna do something about it. And we all get to watch.
EWW Television Championship vs. Bullet Club Leadership
Adam Cole (c) vs. KENTA
It's a Bullet Club civil war in Las Vegas. Adam Cole returned to EWW in a triumph last year and ever since has seen nothing but success. He returned to his roots and with that, re-joined Bullet Club, much to the elation of its members...except their latest leader, KENTA. Bullet Club have expanded over the years and now have a heavy presence stateside, which was a big reason for Cole's return, and it rubbed KENTA the wrong way, who has been with Bullet Club far longer and is the main reason they have expanded. Now after months of teasing and back-and-forth, KENTA has challenged Cole for his EWW TV Championship, and put the leadership of Bullet Club on the line, settling things once and for all.
#1 Contendership to the EWW World Heavyweight Championship
Samoa Joe vs. Kazuchika Okada
When things kick off in the Sphere this Saturday, we're going to be in for a treat. Not only do we get to watch two of the baddest men on the planet do battle, but we're going to know who the #1 Contender is to the World Heavyweight Championship. No matter who wins, Hart or Omega, when they celebrate at the end of the show and raise that title over their head, either one of the most dominant men in Japanese wrestling history Kazuchika Okada, or one of the hardest champs ever in Samoa Joe, will be waiting close by.
