So it appears that Ricochet has been written off WWE television and his arrival in AEW is imminent. It'll be a good get for AEW when it happens and gives everybody a new opponent right off the bat.
The question is, how should he be introduced so that he comes off as an attraction and not just another worker?
Do you put him in the learning tree? Does he join the EVP? Is he on Team AEW? Does he ressurect the Wingmen? Where do you place him?
Originally I thought the play would be to bring him in and have him face Swerve post title loss. The two have history and you could easily play off that chemistry to help prop both guys up. However, I may have just talked myself around into him stepping up the Elite and making him a thorn in their side before tangling with Swerve. That gives you some crazy matches with the Bucks, Okada, Hangman and Swerve before you get to the eventual match with Ospreay.
Either way, I just hope he isn't just another spoke on the wheel having 'bangers' on Rampage.

If this was the old WWE under Vince, the bigger loss this would be is losing Samantha Irvin, Ricochet's partner where the backstage dynamic would be too uncomfortable for Irvin to continue to work under. New WWE makes me think she's not only appreciated but held in extremely high regard as a product of NBC Universal's America's Got Talent and being the ring announcer of the company.
Good for ricochet to try to do something new but I wonder how far he will go in AEW or wherever.

Think he'd go back to the old Prince Puma name? I don't see why. That was a character in Lucha Underground. As far as I know he owns the rights to his ring name since he used it before joining WWE. ... Ricochet would do well in AEW. I don't think he needs to join a stable right out the bat. Introduce him as a free agent signing, have him do his thing in the ring against Will Ospreay, then hopefully ride that and not have him vanish from TV.

It's nice that Ricochet is getting a lot of buzz but I don't give a shit about the guy. Either way, I just hope he isn't just another spoke on the wheel having 'bangers' on Rampage. That's not a prediction, that's a spoiler.

Pair Ricochet with Stokely. Maybe that will flop but at least it will be something different.

The guy is a great high flyer, but he has zero personality, or we're not seeing it - the man bagged Blanchard, Chance and Irvin all within his WWE run, so he must have something we don't know about.
I see the obvious happening, a match with Will right off the bat, where they replicate the flippity floppity spot and land like superheroes to the delight of fans. From there, given AEW's track record, he'll be bouncing around Rampage and Collision having " dream matches " after that.
---
If I wanted to build on that, and make fans care. I'd give Rick a few months off instead of blowing my load all over Daddy's chequebook.
I'd have Swerve drop the belt to Will and let Will have a good 2 or 3 month run beating a new rogue's gallery of challengers - Okada, PAC, White, Swerve II on the big shows, and a tonne of TV matches that highlight how good he is. When all is said and done bruv, and Will is on top of the world, Will cuts a promo claiming, " Bruv, no one can keep up with Will Ospreay Bruv, dun know Bruv? " and as the crowd goes mild, a ricochet sound is heard, with Will looking towards the ramp, a more vicious Ricochet slides into the ring and wraps a chair around the head of Will. Ricochet picks up the Title, flips the camera the bird and leaves with the gold through the crowd.
Ricochet spends the next week appearing at independent shows wearing the title and acting like the champ, until a frustrated Will loses his shit at Tony Khan live on air, threatening Tony in the process. TK, takes a big gulp from his sippy cup, stomps his feet and says, he not taking this shit. And blinking only twice during the entire 5 minutes on camera, he books Will v Ricochet for the AEW Title.
Ricochet v Will is completely different to the match Dave Meltzer prepared a wet mop and a change of clothes for. Ricochet works like Samoa Joe, and just " nopes out " to every monkey spot Will goes for and lets Will crash and burn or just lays in a stiff kick, cutting off Will as he attempts to goad Ricochet into his shenanigans, and once Will has sufficiently bruised every bone in his body looking for Meltzer Stars, Ricochet starts his onslaught of aerial offence. With Will beaten at his own game, Ricochet beats Will and takes the title and leaves through the crowd again, he turns and says to the camera, " I'll see you on the road, I didnt signed the contract " as the camera cuts to TK and the EVPs in Gorilla breaking kayfabe looking shocked.
That's part 1.

Part 2 begins with Ricochet showing up on several independent shows calling Tony Khan a bitch among other things throughout the week. Ricky goes on his socials proclaiming he never signed a contract with AEW and he never will and the title is as good as dead now. It's announced on the socials " we'll hear from Tony Khan " on Dynamite to address the situation.
It's the talk of the town on Dynamite with commentary at a loss. Throughout the show we see Tony Khan arriving surrounded by his yes men. Later The Elite arrive. Neither what to address the cameras, heading directly into a closed door meeting with TK.
TK finally appears towards the end of the show, and fronts the camera backstage and begins with his usual awkwardness and babbling about reaching out to Trevor, and having spoken to his representation, and how it's now a legal matter and he can't talk about it. There's a very audible " Oh. Get Fucked Tony! " as the camera pans out, to a visibly pissed off Matt Jackson, he continues, " this is why everyone thinks you're a dweeb Tony! " as he pushes past everyone with Nick and an out of character Chris Jericho ( who weaseled his way into the scene ) are trying to calm the situation.
Matt storms down to the ring, banging on the mic, as they do.. " is this shit on? " type stuff. And starts calling out Ricochet, calling him a piece of shit and talking about trust and loyalty and how they thought they were friends... the ricochet noise is heard and as Matt turns, Tricky Ricky slides in from under the ring and levels Matt with a chair shot to make Tommy Dreamer squirm. He unloads a full clip on Matt before Nick and and a cast of randoms storm the ring. Ricochet escapes through the crowd to end this episode of Dynamite as a distraught Tony looks on.
On the following Dynamite, Nick arrives late in the show and is essentially shown walking like a man possessed through the backstage area, every man and his dog is trying to talk him down from going out there and doing something silly. Until he finally crosses paths with that weasel Chris Jericho who is big-dicking his way into the situation, and Tony Khan. TK tells Nick to calm down and let the lawyers handle it, Jericho tries to get a word in and gets told to shut his weasely mouth by Nick as he turns his attention to Tony, asking him " did you get my message? " to which Tony confirms he did. Nick continues " instead of wasting your money on pieces of shit like this " while pointing at Jericho " how about you put it to good use! "
Nick comes out to ring and does that old " is this shit on? " thing and declares " there is now a price on the head of Ricochet! $500,000 to person who brings me his head! " the camera cuts to the AEW locker room as The Elite - Okada, Perry and Omega are watching in shock with Jericho and Tony looking on. The Blackpool Combat Club step into frame and there is a stare down between the two factions. The camera zooms out and Jay White is sitting on the bench with his head down, he stands as The Bang Bang Gang appear by his side. The show closes as the three factions nod and make serious looking faces at each other.

Ricochet

Part 3, and guys, I'm literally on the couch making this up, so if it's little incoherent, that's why.
Ricochet continues to appear at independent shows with the belt, defending it. After a match, Jack Perry flies into the ring and gets quickly outworked by Ricochet who eventually ends the night with a now trademarked chair to Perry's head. All of this is captured and shared on planted social media.
A day later, The Ass Boys come to collect and being bullish young lions, Ass Boy 1 eats a turn buckle pole attempting a spear and kayfabe destroys his shoulder, Ass Boy 2 eats that Ricochet chair shot and gets executed essentially by Ricochet with a follow-up to a kneeling Ass Boy.
Come Dynamite, Nick and Kenny are backstage pacing around when Jay White comes into the room - he's all smiles, despite having two busted Ass Boys. He says, " they need to work together " to which Omega replies, " how can we trust you considering you're, you know... Jay White? White says, " some things are bigger than the two of us, some things are 4-LIFE... " as he throws up the Turkish Wolf. Jay's wrist is taped in red, this is a red herring. Nick and Omega momentarily pause before reluctantly too-sweating Jay. As Jay leaves, they mutter about trust White.
Throughout the night, Juice is found beat up. Okada is found beat up. Wheeler is found beat up and now everyone is tense. Before the night is over there's a nWo like scene with several babyface mid carders laying dead in the back.
Blackpool Combat Club cut a promo about doing what they should have done a long time ago - for those playing at home, this only started a few weeks ago..... so, it's not that long ago.
To close the show, Ricochet steps over the guard rail and takes position in the ring laying the title down in the centre.
Nick and White cautiously come put onto the ramp, as does a returning Will Ospreay to the delight of fans. Blackpool Combat Club enter through the crowd and meet them rampside of the ring. All 6 men circle the ring as Ricochet goes from casually leaning on the ropes to comically pretending he's going to fight them all, before anything can happen Blackpool Combat Club jump the other three men - with a returning Yuta joining in. The chairs come out, and like a executioner on his birthday, Ricochet sinks a chair into the skull of each man.
Ricochet has joined the Blackpool Combat Club, the Club has turned heel and have left all the major players as good as dead. Dynamite ends with The Club exiting through the crowd.
" We are at war Schivone! "
