It makes sense on paper considering GOA have remained a thorn in their sides, but the whole "WILL THEY COEXIST!?" trope bugs me when there is no real reason to team them up.

I guess they are technically teaming up to face a common enemy which should be a good enough reason, but I was under the impression that the feud with GOA was over and Ospreay and Swerve were solely focusing on each other. And after last week's promo about things getting personal between the two of them, forcing them to team up a week later and 4 days before their match just seems like lazy booking.

If you wanna go balls out and have your title match opponents team up, blow us out of the water and give us a true Forbidden Door match up and have Swerve/Ospreay vs. Mox/Naito. Or put your two champs on one team and the challengers on another. We know Naito is showing up tonight with BCC facing LIJ, you can't get him to work a 15 minute tag match and be the hot tag? Come on.

Daniel Garcia finally getting his dues is nice to see. Loved the little subtle touch of MJF being upstaged and therefore rescinding the Wembley match. He'll wait and see how the title matches play out then after Garcia comes up short he'll probably tell him he's not as good as he thought and Garcia will have to earn a match against him all over again.

I love this time of year in AEW. Such cool matches like this.

Emperor is a big Takagi fan so he can fill in the blanks but here's the gist off the top of my head:

Veteran that started in the 2000's in Dragon Gate. First graduate of the Dragon Gate Dojo, was a really promising rookie that lived up to the hype. He made appearances in ROH and PWG but I don't remember them even though I watched ROH pretty regularly back then.

In 2018 he was a surprise entrant in the King of Pro Wrestling tournament in NJPW. Tetsuya Naito released a video announcing that LIJ would be adding a new member and it was Takagi. This was a huge deal after he had spent most of his career in Dragon Gate and they are a direct competitor with NJPW. In terms of Japanese wrestling, it's up there with AEW signing Chris Jericho. Takagi has once again lived up to the hype and has been a crowd favourite ever since. He has slowed down in the last couple years due to his age, but he still hits hard and can go the distance in a match. He won several titles, including the IWGP World Heavyweight title, which he won by pinning Kazuchika Okada when the title was vacated by an injured Will Ospreay.

Put him in the ring with a guy like Danielson and you're guaranteed a banger.

He's in the TNT title ladder match.

I think it'll just be him replacing Billy Gunn. Elite already announced they are inserting someone in the Owen next week, so I doubt they give that away on Sunday, and I can't see anyone from NJPW joining them in a way that makes sense.

Nah I think this is just a way to get Tanahashi and Okada in the same ring on Sunday.

He said it actually means they are just there for a select few and themselves.

Lots of people saw a correlation between him and CM Punk from his run in AEW and now WWE. And now Jericho is directly quoting it. :lol:
