I recently came across a reel of Randy Orton, in a sit down with Cody, revealing that he has spent 600 hours in Elden Ring (somewhat ashamedly? π). It's harder to enumerate hours for older games, but we can ballpark a figure. What games have you clocked the most hours in?
For me, it's either Final Fantasy X or The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I spent several summers in high school playing the latter; the lack of fast travel made this game seem so much bigger than it actually was, and inspired more of a sense of exploration and wonder. At the same time, fast travel introduces a quality of life component into games that busy adults can't do without; so this game, with this specific non-feature, came out at the right time in my life. The other area I enjoyed in Morrowind where it lacks "quality of life" is the reams of text. That sounds weird, maybe; but I feel Morrowind served up its mythology and lore in a way that none of its successors have. It felt more immersive because of what it didn't offer, ironically. I've probably spent 300 hours in this game, I'd guesstimate.
FFX may have it beat. It's hard to say. The game is going on twenty-five years old, and I've played through it at least a dozen times. There are some years where there is next to nothing that is released that I want to play, so I will just replay this, instead. It's definitely up there.
Is anyone giving Randy and his 600 a run for its money? π

According to my Playstation stats, I have 1600 hours into Fallout 4. Settlement building it what I love to do. I likely also have 4 digits in Borderlands 1 and 2. Gear farming is a cruel mistress in those game, and when Gearbox does a level increase, it's time to farm again. Bloodborne is about 700 hours with the multiple playthroughs I've done with that game. A hoonter must hoont.

Team Fortress 2 is top of the list at 257 hours according to Steam. It's a very easy pick up and play, skill is not a requirement for enjoyment, just silly entertaining fun. As mentioned in another thread, I've grown out of that type of game, and TF2 became incredibly transactional in recent years. I played it during its peak, I'm satisfied, and I have no desire to go back. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Played on my housemate's Xbox at university. I don't have a precise count but I'd say at least 200 hours investment, I barely touched the main campaign, instead spending all of my time fucking around. It was riveting at first, but I look back on those hours mostly with regret, of time wasted to achieve nothing (in a gaming sense). For that reason I tend to avoid open world games, even though it's increasingly difficult. Final Fantasy. Of course. I've played the classics (VI, VII, VIII and IX) many many times. At least a hundred hours in each game, not sure which one I've played the most. FFX may have it beat. It's hard to say. The game is going on twenty-five years old, and I've played through it at least a dozen times. There are some years where there is next to nothing that is released that I want to play, so I will just replay this, instead. It's definitely up there. I've only played through FFX once, even though I love the game. I want to give it another run at some point. Have you completed all the post-game content? On my one playthrough I gave it a go but upon realising I'd have to sink at least another 100 hours to power up my characters to the ridiculous levels needed to beat even the first Dark Aeon...I tapped out.

Considering I do yearly playthroughs of both Pokemon FireRed (and its various romhacks), as well as Super Mario World, it would probably be safe to say it would be one of those two games.
Edit: With that said, I couldn't actually give you the total number of hours for either game.

488 hours into Street Fighter 6 (Itβs only been out just over a year)
1,113 into Street Figher V
Probably even more than that counting all versions of Street Fighter IV.
Played a ridiculous amount of WOW around the Wrath of the Lich King era.
The DKC trilogy would be up there too as Iβve played through each game at least a hundred times since I was a little kid.

Impossible to tally and it hasn't been played in years, but I'd wager to guess the original SSB back when I lived at home with the family. It was always our go to game to play.

Has to be Minecraft. Been playing modded Minecraft for over a decade now. Got to have thousands of hours in. Crazy I did not even pay for it, Notch gave out keys on twitter one day and I got my key that way. Was before the Nether existed.
In modded Minecraft have the most hours in SevTech. Spent several hundred hours finishing that run. Had like a full city up by the end with areas devoted to each different piece of tech production.

I would have to say World Series Baseball II for the Sega Saturn. From 2010ish until 2016 or 2017 I played a full 162 game season as the Astros and lost a playoff series to the Rockies in 6. Had a total blast with that playing games here and there, there was a 2-3 year gap where something was wrong with my memory cartridge not connecting I thought the save was gone but after cleaning out the port I miraculously was able to get it working and finish the season. Played some fucking epic 12-13 inning extra innings games including the big comeback over the Rockies in game 5 that was probably one of my favorite most memorable sports video games ever lol. I burned out my pitchers and had nothing left for game 6. Brilliant video game that honestly just doesn't get nearly the love it deserves because of the system it is on, that game made me a baseball fan.

Have you completed all the post-game content? On my one playthrough I gave it a go but upon realising I'd have to sink at least another 100 hours to power up my characters to the ridiculous levels needed to beat even the first Dark Aeon...I tapped out. I have a save file on my PS4 version where I beat a least a few of the dark aeons; not sure if I beat them all, though. There is definitely a lot of farming involved to max your stats. I remember battling Tonberry over and over again in the arena ... I think for either luck or fortune spheres. It's not a 100 hour grind, but it is a substantial undertaking, and the least fun the game has to offer. I'm a huge fan of the story. I think topics like race and religion tend to smack people in the face, regardless of the medium they're being discussed through, but someone can play through FFX without really noticing how much this game is about race and religion lol. That means the story is being told artfully. As a Catholic, there is certainly an appeal to me about a group of people who are branded heretics by their own faith, who yet continue to hold fast to it on their pilgrimage, having developed their own take on it. Seymour is also a really underrated antagonist; he's got some serious Nietzsche going on ... π
