I really enjoyed the game. I had a feeling going into this season that the Ravens would struggle more than people think with all the turnover they’ve had in key positions. Now I’m not so sure as they showed a lot here. I was really impressed by how quickly they fixed the o line issue. That looked like it was going to be a disaster during the first few possessions but they seemed fine after that. Looking forward to reading the analysis on how that happened. A lot of comments about them not getting Henry going but I think the approach was always going to be to save him for later in the season.

A lot of comments about them not getting Henry going but I think the approach was always going to be to save him for later in the season. I don’t think their plan is to save Henry for the EOS. Especially in a week 1 revenge game. I think the Chiefs took the Ravens out of the game they wanted to play and completely took Henry out of the game. Not like he was doing much at the beginning either. Lamar Jackson proved who he was again. Mr. Flash, but can’t finish in big moments. Him missing Likely and then missing a wide open Zay on the next play shows why people call him overrated. He is who he is and that’s a running QB who only knows how to throw to TEs. Speaking of TEs. Watching Andrews and Kelce not be main players in the game yesterday was wild too. I know the game was decided by a toe, but that game did not feel that close to me. I never felt like the Ravens were the better team. The Chiefs play calling when they’re trying to close out a game and run out the clock needs to be fixed. Let Mahomes end these games with his arm. What a difference from this years Week 1 and last years. Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy stepped up and we didn’t need to deal with potential drops of Toney or MVS. Felt good to be comfortable with the receiving core. Rashee Rice being compared to Amon Ra and Michael Thomas right now and I love that comparison. His hands were glue last night! mikec trade him to me!

Jalen Ramsey getting that type of money is pretty crazy at his age but good for him. Dolphins really putting their resources in everywhere BUT the trenches, from the OLine and letting Wilkins leave. Just Armstead mainly and he can't be fully relied upon.

How are we in 2024 and people still don’t understand contracts in the NFL? The 24.1 APY usually means next to nothing nor does the length really - it’s mostly about headlines for the agents. He got paid for sure but there’s clearly something specific about the 24.1 after Surtain got 24.

He got paid for sure but there’s clearly something specific about the 24.1 after Surtain got 24. Had a torn meniscus around this time last year and is going to be 30 in October. Revis had a similar drop off around that age(Jets signed him at this age in 2015 and he bombed. Maybe Ramsey is a different story but it's tough to keep the consistency at CB going into your 30's, especially with the speed that today's WRs got). My issue is Miami's concept of putting their cap space at CB/WR/QB vs say the O-Line or D-Line, including letting their best player on defense go in FA.

1. It could just as easily be a 2 year deal I’m assuming.
2. Ramsey has the skill set to be able to transition to a number of places in the secondary, even if he loses a step at corner.
3. Shocker but not everything comes back to Jets. Charles Woodson broke his leg in 2005 and signed a free agent deal with the Packers the next year and was incredibly and putting DPOY caliber seasons.
4. Not all players and teams are created equal and every situation isn’t an apples to apples comparison.

Henry seemed like an odd fit with Lamar last night, with Lamar going under center more than it seemed like he had in the past and very few of the runs being impactful. The play action to a Lamar run the opposite direction has some life to it, but definitely a ho hum night for him.

He's being paid as a top tier CB, him converting back to safety(Which he hasn't done since FSU IIRC?). It's different for everybody sure but he already had taken a step back as a talent from his elite days with JAX and early LAR.

He’s not been a traditional corner for a long time, he generally plays all over the field on defense including the slot, especially with the Rams. And he’s expected to to do more of that again this year.

I remember this sort of happening in Minnesota with Teddy (I think) being much better in shotgun but Peterson being way better out of the I. Created a weird imbalance and predictability with them. I’m sure they will figure something out and if Henry does ever get going that boot action could be deadly.

Tee Higgins now doubtful to play this week. Cincinnati is in a pickle with these receivers wanting top pay.

Bit nervous for the game tonight. No idea what to expect from this team with a history of wonky openers and Philly is obviously as talented as team in the league. Brown is what terrifies me most, especially if we go to a lot more man coverage.
Offensively I think we have a huge advantage against their secondary.
Add to that the weird Brazil shit and it’s just a tough way to start.

I just need a Devonta Smith TD and Josh Jacobs to have a terrible fantasy game.
I say Eagles win by 3 and it’s because the Packers kicker missed 2 FGs. 24-21 Philly.

More 2023 Hurts with the turnover vs the 2022 one, that was a wacky throw. Just hoisting it up there for whomever.
