This is meant to be light-hearted. It may sound serious but it's not. Uber now seems to be a common unnecessary descriptor in news headlines. It is oddly interesting. Most recently there was uber eats driver that shot a customer. Ok, I get some of them. But why do I need to know the Florida shooter took an Uber to school that morning. It seems like Uber drivers are held on an odd pedestal or made to feel like they are threats. An Uber driver dials 911, either way the call goes it's making the news. Whether they are getting a cat out of a tree or getting attacked by a passenger.
Do you feel that mentioning someone is an Uber driver is generally relevant to most news stories you see about them? Am I the only odd duck to notice this?

The media obviously has shares in Lyft...
Either that or Uber drivers tend to be trump supporters, which is kind of a slur these days.

Well, I mean, there actually is a reason to mention the Uber driver in the FL case but since this is a non-serious thread...
I'm used to Uber stories because it's headquartered here. And Uber's street force don't know how to drive and are most likely to cause a near-accident as they cut everyone off to make a right turn from the left lane (got a ping on their app for a ride or whatever) so anything that promotes dislike of them is just peachy with me.

I'm pretty sure if he took a yellow cab that would be mentioned too.
