Since the Cruiserweight Challenge Tournament hype 205 live hasn't exactly taken off the way the WWE has wanted it to, I think the only decent thing to come from the division since the launch is the character development of Neville.

Having 205 live on after Smackdown Live isn't great either as by the time Smackdown has finished audiences have seen enough wrestling for the evening so head for the exit, having it be on another day for its own separate event probably won't work either as they won't draw enough fans. Having it on before Smackdown is aired has the possibility of making the crowds restless towards the 2nd hour of Smackdown so that won't work either.

The talent isn't the problem, I am a fan of Mustafa Ali, Jack Gallagher, Drew Gulak etc and think they are all very talented young guys.

I'd really like to see 205 live grow and the division to be have the success the company obviously wanted for it when they had the idea to bring the cruiserweight division back in the first place.

So a bit of fantasy booking here... What

I personally watch 205 Live every week and think it's highly entertaining. It's always much better than what is presented on Raw. Everyone for the most part has a character, and there's always a great main event. Every rivalry always ends with a great match. Now there's the Enzo vs Cruiserweights story that's turning out very good. It's just a solid show, and somehow, they always work hard enough to get an invested crowd.


However, while I think 205 Live is a really good show, and think it just needs more people to watch and realize that, there are a couple of things I'd fix. I don't think moving it before SD would work. I think it's ok to have it after, unless they move it to Full Sail and air on Wednesdays, which I'm not against. The full sail crowd would/do love all those guys, so it would be a hot crowd who are invested in them. Though, Full Sail isn't the loud, energetic place it once was.


1. Give more of the roster more mic time and more segments on Raw so the people who watch it can get more understanding and more attached to guys like Drew, Nese, Dar, TJP, Swann, Cedric, etc. They do get a good bit on 205 Live though.

2. Let them work outside of the CW division sometimes. Let Tozawa team up with Crews, or let Tozawa face Elias. Let TJP go against Kalisto. Let one of the Cruisers beat Curt Hawkins. Give them segments with the Raw talent so they don't seem like a side attraction.

3. Let them go full out. The guys don't even work house shows much unless you're the champ anyway, or the occasional NXT show. So let them be the guys they should be. The ones that go out there and go all out in different styles. If they get five minutes on Raw, let them put on a show, not your regular slow paced Raw match. Same on 205 Live too. Let them go full out and make fans want to see them more.

4. No more matches on pre-shows for the Cruiserweight title, and if there's a time to really let them go all out, it's any Cruiserweight championship match on a PPV.

5. No more random six man tags. Stop making them the divas division.



The cruiserweight division is a roster full of talented guys, who work hard under the crappy booking they've been given. However, 205 Live has been consistently good for months and this Enzo story is going to be good for them. There's still a good bit of work to be done, but it's on the up-swing, WWE just needs to keep going for it.

It's hard to get people to care because it's segregated from the main roster. The color scheme and ring ropes make it seem separate. They never did that for the divas. Also the ring work. Not sure how you make it stand out when the main roster is having the same type of matches. The crowd needs to be alive during it and that can't happen during a third hour. I know it's hard to manage, but putting it on before they are exhausted from a Smackdown taping would at least maybe have them care. No one is interested because it's live.

I don't like the idea of 205 Live being segregated as @ness said. I think, even a cruiserweight division stigmatizes these guys as being smaller athletes, in reality there's not a lot in size difference between some of the main roster talent and the 205 crew.

Neville could be presented as an absolute beast, despite his height on the main roster. Similar to Chris Benoit 15 years ago, despite Benoit's lack of height and squarely weighing in at the old 220lb limit.

Either separate it entirely or integrate it into the rest of the roster.

As of now, 205 Live is still an offshoot of Raw, filled with guys that are too small for the rest of the roster. It's taped after Smackdown when most people are ready to go home and don't care anyway.

Either give them separate tapings on different nights in smaller, more intimate venues (not tiny, but the shows with Smackdown are embarrassing) or scrap it and incorporate all of 205 Live into the 3-hour Raw with angles and stories spread across the show.

They've half-assed the cruiserweight division from the beginning, because it's WWE.  Either make it is own entity or scrap it.
