If you didn't know any better you'd swear the wrong person went over.

Cole was extremely rusty and sloppy, Matthews tried his best to work around it.

A pretty standard Dynamite opener, so I don't think you'll hate if you're a fan of that style. For me, I just wish they showed more restraint - nobody believed Buddy was going to win why are you lifting your knee? Why are you rolling out onto the floor? Just eat the pin.

I think my hunch was right. Can't remember if I posted it here or not. Omega is closer to returning than they are letting on and him and Ibushi are going to reunite The Elite one more time to try and take down Mox.

Like they did the V-Trigger and OWA during the match last night. They couldn't be more obvious if they dangled Omega above the ring.

Won’t be seeing Matthew & Nicholas for a while. Nicholas has been working with a separated shoulder that might require surgery. Not that it wasn’t obvious last night but they have been written off TV for some time.

I loved the tag team title match. What a way for P.P.

Another meandering storyline with no clear endpoint just fizzles due to an injury. And they don’t even use the limited time they have to pay it off.

AEW booking is fucking atrocious.

AEW booking is fucking atrocious.

Exactly, you could have even had Moxley's group put Nick Jackson on the shelf to help further that angle.

Instead they've gone ahead, put the straps on Private Party to give themselves some pats on the back for 'making' another team and then portrayed themselves as cowards running out of the arena.

I enjoy it when they play around with morality and the babyfaces don't pander too hard, but if the Bucks think they can make a triumphant babyface return they're going to be sorely mistaken.

These big angles just aren't their forte.

Someone wrote on some dirtsheet opinion piece " The Bucks leaving was the end of The Elite power takeover angle " and it got me thinking, did it even achieve anything? TK played on after a few awkward appearances wearing a neck-brace and in fact, they lacked so much power within the organization during this angle, that another group took it.

Nothing more than a Young Buck title grab - is it art imitating life, or the other way around. 

Speaking of jokes ( and I loved me some Adam Cole in NXT ) but in what universe does someone who looks and works like Buddy not kick the living shit out of someone who looks and works like Adam Cole? 

Then, they're going to fed Black to him. Which is ever worse. 

I can see a world where Malakai Black gets the win over Cole, then Roddy gets his 3rd victory and faces MJF first. I feel like they're going to milk the eventual match between Cole & MJF for as long as they can. Could see it taking place in Brisbane maybe.

I'm kind of hoping that is how things go down, personally. Cole looked rusty against Matthews. I'm also not crazy about a feud between HOB and Adam Cole/The Kingdom.

If this is truly the end of the EVPs trying to run the company, then I don't understand it either. They get scared of Mox and lose the tag titles so they run away and that's it? I mean at least they are off TV for a bit so we can stop being sick of seeing them, but like you guys have said that's a real shit ending, if you can even call it an ending.

I'll reserve judgment until we see the next couple weeks though. Okada & Perry are still there and still have titles to defend. There's potential for something to happen between Mox and Private Party, considering they were the first people he targeted and did what Mox wanted by stepping up and overthrowing the Bucks. Maybe Mox takes credit and uses them as an example to the rest of the locker room, continuing his whole "I am giving you a gift," approach.

Garcia got called out by Mox and is now next in line to take down Jack Perry. Okada has the C2 coming up where he will be busy defending his title in a tournament, so we could see his more serious side emerge now that his goofball friends showed their true colours and left him high and dry (after he tried to help them retain their titles, might I add).

There's still layers to this so I'm not completely disappointed, and we don't know how long the Bucks will be gone or how they plan to return to TV, so I'll give it time. But I'm not confident either. This could be a disaster if they don't execute a decent follow-up to them running off.

Some folks from pods I listen to on current wrestling think The Bucks will return as babyfaces. I will lose it if that happens.

I don't see that happening. In order for that to work they would have to be aligned with a returning Kenny Omega, the guy they took out in the first place.

I could see them coming back after Omega returns, hat in hand, trying to make things right, but that wouldn't go over well either.

Basically they painted themselves into a corner and didn't give us a payoff we deserved, so whatever happens in the near future needs to be good enough that we forgive this garbage ending to an interesting angle. I'm not confident we get that.

Not sure to what degree Cole is actually rusty, or whether that's just part of the angle. But either way I agree, Buddy should have walloped him into paste and I think demoralized "do I still got it" Adam Cole makes a much stronger story than 'welp, totally fine after all' Adam Cole who stops selling a busted ankle for superkick party and flying knee

on the positive side, I wonder what's going on with Wheeler Yuta. It seems like creative is building to that moment he breaks free of BCC's programming, but guessing it's at least a couple of months away
