I was really big on the Steve Austin Show before Austin phoned it in (and he phoned it in before he actually phoned it in); when Austin actually prepared for his interviews and worked from notes, in the first few years, it was a high quality podcast. JR's also, before the Conrad Thompson era. I am still listening to Cornette regularly; although, by now, I am starting to miss the OVW Deep Dives and dishing on random, old wrestling over reviews of the categorically assailable AEW.
The Jeff Gerstmann Show and, most recently, Pod Meets World round out my rotation.
I've been following Gerstmann since the GameSpot days in the early 2000s, and video games news media is mostly an uninviting wilderness to me otherwise. I've always been a big Will Friedle fan ... loved Eric on BMW. It's been interesting to hear him, Danielle Fischel and Rider Strong dissect as adults the episodes they starred in as kids and adolescents.
What's in your rotation? š¤

Pod Save America My World 83 Weeks Freakanomics Work Life with Adam Grant Iām months behind on all, though. Just been SLAMMED in real life. Is Freakanomics good? I loved the book... The only Podcasts I listen to semi-regularly are: Timothy Ferris Show - Best Interview Podcasts Huberman Lab Podcast - Bio-Hacking Daily Stoic - Ryan Holiday I am definitely more into Audible than Podcasts these days, too much filler and too much waffle in most of them. Books make me appreciate editors.

I e been having a rough go of podcasts lately, not finding any that really hook me.
Pablo Torre Finds Out (primarily the share and tell episodes) The Big Picture New Heights The Rewatchables (depending on the movie)
I have a bunch of others on the list, mostly sports or wrestling related, that are listened to sparingly. I do like the Dominique Foxworth Show as he has a more unique take on football than a lot of the podcast/talking head types.

The Steve Dangle Podcast (mostly Maple Leafs talk but all things hockey)
Distractible (Markiplier & friends. Usually pretty funny)
Last Podcast On The Left (when Ben was fired and replaced with Eddie it was like they got a breath of new life. Shows have been great ever since)
Hardcore History
The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart
Conan OāBrien Needs A Friend
Donāt Make Me Come Back There (millennial parents talk about life. Pretty relatable and the dude is a good comedian)
Natecast (sometimes. Itās hit and miss)
Pod Save America (just because of election season. Probably wonāt listen much after the next couple weeks)
The Basement Yard (although all the good stuff gets posted on tiktok so I donāt listen often)
I used to listen to 2 Bears 1 Cave a lot but stopped the last year or two because they became insufferable. Dudes got too rich and up their own asses and think their fans actually like hearing them talk about how rich they are.

When do you guys have time to listen to podcasts? Commute to work? While working? While working out?
I listen to zero podcasts. Mostly due to time constraints. I'm only in the car for about 15 mins total without one of my sons in there with me. I think it would be frowned upon at work but I guess I could check.

Now that I work from home it's much less frequently. I typically don't like to listen during work because I don't want to miss stuff while I'm deep in thought.

I'm only in the car for about 15 mins total without one of my sons in there with me. I think it would be frowned upon at work but I guess I could check. I drive between Edmonton and Fort Mac every week. Thatās a 4-5 hour drive depending on weather and traffic. When I am on shift my commute from my apartment to site is about half an hour. I get up early and donāt like music when I havenāt had coffee yet so I put on some babble while I drive. Also my job is a mix of field work and desk work. If I am stuck in my office for hours or days at a time I sometimes throw on a podcast while I work. Usually music though. For some reason when I am focusing on work I stop paying attention to podcasts, but that doesnāt happen when I drive. I dunno. When I am home I drive my kids to and from school because they go to a fancy school downtown and we live on the edge of the city. Thatās about 45 minutes both ways and I do it twice a day. I have no desire to listen to the radio (except when I first get in the car, I wait for weather and traffic then turn it off), and if I donāt want music I throw an episode of something on.

It's definitely the case that they keep me up longer, but I don't mind, especially because there is really no other setting where I really want to play them. I vastly prefer music when I'm in the car. ... Podcasts are like bedtime stories for adults, imo. š
