Due to the election season I started watching David Simon's "The Plot Against America" and it later led me to finding "Years and Years".
Both spurred the idea of starting this thread, as miniseries in general often get overlooked or unmentioned (both here + abroad) due to our modern need for longform binge watching.
So I'm curious if any of you have a particular favorite that you've enjoyed? Did it leave you wanting more by the end or were you fully satisfied with the experience as a whole?
Also, feel free to explain why you're wrong by not picking "Utopia" (original, of course).

Seconded. This show is phenomenal. Band Of Brothers is another good one, and is generally regarded as not only the best miniseries ever made, but one of the best shows period. I really enjoyed The People vs. OJ Simpson. Apparently The Penguin is only going to be a miniseries so definitely watch that one. It's so good. Makes me sad there won't be future seasons, but it gives me hope that the success of the show will lead to more tie-ins with the current Batman/Gotham universe they are building. If they intend on sticking with a more crime drama approach, I think they have an incredible opportunity to make some really good television. I wanna know where Barry Keoghan's Joker came from and how he fits into all this. Why he's already in Arkham and how a young Batman caught him. I want more mafioso stuff and more Gotham underground mayhem that leads into the next Batman movie.

I really liked HBO's Watchmen. You should have knowledge of the Watchmen graphic novel's version of the EVIL PLOT, not the movie, prior to watching.

The Stand. Well, unless you count British... Never mind. I'm not wracking my brain to determine some imaginary cutoff line between series & miniseries from our friends across the pond. The Stand immediately came to mind upon reading the thread title, so The Stand it is. M-O-O-N that spells epic.

The Stand immediately came to mind upon reading the thread title, so The Stand it is. M-O-O-N that spells epic. To my arbitrary American definition, it has to be just one season of at least 3-4 parts/episodes to be a miniseries, though 6 usually feels like the standard/right amount to me. Isn't "The Stand" the tomiest of all of Stephen King's tomes? I remember it being like 2000+ pages long or something. Would have expected them to milk that narrative cow just a little longer. Very on brand and a valid answer. I changed my stance on chess being considered a competitive sport thanks to that show.

I actually started "Chernobyl" for the first time and I'm halfway through. Always wanted to watch it but I just never got around to it.
Beautifully shot with a great use of tension so far. I always love watching something new with Jared Harris in it, too.

Always made an impression on me after that Lost In Space movie.
