I had all kinds of hell with spoilers in my Texans thread. Something about all the formatting throws it off I guess, it doesn't really work like the old board did. Not sure what I was doing wrong but I just said fuck it and gave up.

I sometimes have trouble with line breaks using the preview editor but going to the BBCode tab is a good way to fix things.

So yeah, since I posted that, I am almost complete with some planning and nearly a full show too (full promo's, match recaps, the whole 9 yards).

It feels great to be back in the writing groove again.

Anyone fancy giving me some tips, pointers and general feedback on something?

Spoilers for my project, but would like to have a sounding board to sense whether I'm going in the right direction.

Said project, stupidly, I posted in the WWE form but should be moved back down here in a jiffy. Should have the first show ready for your viewing pleasure at some point by early next week.

Been away with the missus for the weekend so progress was slow but hoping to get the show done and posted some time in the next 24 hours, barring any interruptions.

Mr. Wonderful: Horsemen-hating main event mega face and possible WCW Champion

Too Cold Scorpio as Glacier
Fire & Ice as long term tag champs
Likely no Cruiserweight division. Instead the cruiserweights will dominate the TV Title division.

But no seriously, I have a billion ideas I want to write. The “not worth it” thing is because we can write a show but there is no way the amount of work you put into it will ever be given back by reviews by readers. It’s nobodies fault, but life. When we were dishing out greatness and getting 5-10 reviews per show, we were loving it. We made each other get better and better and challenged each other and ourselves to be the best.

Now Fan Fic has become nothing but a place for AP to do some random “pick a wrestler or 5 and i’ll Play video games with them and tell you who won but never show you because this is my Fan Fic and deal with it!” There’s no more original content that’s trailblazing and the new generation of writers will never find this place because we are in a deep basement of the internet. It is what it is and I love the people that have joined the forum.

*cue emotional music*

But Fan Fic is the sacrifice we had to make to stay in touch with each other foreverrrrrr!



Which is why we should do a multi-participation wrestling fed where we all take turns adding to the storyline and write the greatest fed ever written!

I think there’s a lot of merit in what Kid is saying, but I think he’s missing a big point: we got old.

I was 17 when I started writing Fan Fic here, and in college when I was balls to the wall reviewing and writing. My biggest responsibility was occasionally attending class, going to bars every night, a low-level job as a waiter and sometimes taking out my girlfriend of the month.

Now I’m a 33-year-old man with a wife, two boys under three, a senior level marketing position at a big company with a travel schedule that has had me on the road for work 13 out of the last 14 weeks. And while the details may be different for everyone else, the truth still remains we all grew up and got old.

I’d love to have hours a day to write. Stay up until 3 am talking to Kid and Jeff and Pizzle about ideas, storylines and life.

But it’s just not realistic.

And that’s okay. Real life is so much better.

Touché. Real lifes better.

At least the group of us got to grow together and make friends with each other. We were a team. Even though I don’t know anyone’s names really from here, I’ll always remember the usernames.

Shit, y'all got me feelin nostalgic like I just watched Sandlot or some shit.

I mean, it’s probably something bland like Stephen. With a PH to be sophisticated.

Kid and KJ's posts made me throw up New Era Wrestling on a whim.

I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a hook that would let me write a fed with all the great wrestlers of today. I've tried random "wrestling war" feds that have a select few wrestlers, I've tried re-imagining the WWE, but none of that works. It's all too big to take on with the limited time we have to write (see: we got old).

So the other night I said "fuck it, I'm doing NEW one more time, I'm selecting the wrestlers I want to use, and I'm using the same old 'Shane falls out with his dad,' trope." Who cares. It's all good fun. It doesn't have to make sense. I'll drop some posts in the fed when I want to and hopefully it's fun.

Just wanna say I love the idea behind the Contenders title in NEW. I've thought the case should be defended and people usually shit on it because they confuse it for a mid card belt I guess. Now I kinda want to write a wrestling show. But I know better.

I agree. It’s a brilliant midcard belt.

Thanks guys. I've always been fond of that idea. I had a blast writing my last NEW fed when Dean Ambrose was a sadistic heel holding the Contender's title. There was this impending doom once he got hold of the belt, then nobody could beat him to get it off him, then he finally cashed in and it was like a nightmare scenario for the rest of the locker room.

I might do something similar in this reboot, though I don't know if I'll use Ambrose or someone else. Honestly I haven't fleshed out many ideas, I'm just scratching that writing itch and seeing where it takes me.

Also I realized just now that the big huge mega main event match I announced for my first show....didn't get written. I forgot. I guess that's what I get for writing while drinking.

I think I saved face though. Used the old "cut for time" schtick. Mwahahaha

I was at some point after the draft and stuff I was planning to do a WCW fed but after reading RT NEW fed it inspiring me to scrap the WCW fed, and do my own fed.
