Normally with undefeated streaks they find ways to keep them alive without them truly losing like saying not taking the pin in a triple threat. But it seems non-canon tag matches are always part of the streak. Last night they implied through commentary and Asuka's reactions that her streak would end if Miz had taken the pinfall in a tag match. So that pretty much means they're winning, right? They wouldn't waste her streak on the MMC? Then again they're likely to face Little Big in the semis so it wouldn't surprise me...

Something that should not count in the record books. By putting Asuka in the tournament, and making the tournament count on your win-loss record, it takes away 100% on the surprise factor of who wins it.

To be honest I prefer the humour of Asuka getting protective over her streak while Miz tries to take credit rather than the mystery of a tournament which doesn't mean anything anyway.

Technically Miz is correct in it being their streak. They are undefeated as a team!

Asuka shouldn't be in the tournament for this very reason. It was fun wondering which team would get the win. Rightfully, it should be Team Little Big

Asuka was adorable in that mixed tag team match. I guess it is counter-productive how they played up her potentially losing her streak here while they don't stress it as much in other matches like the Survivor Series tag match or the six-woman tag just this week on RAW. It could help if they just counted her singles matches (since she technically lost that one battle royal in NXT that Carmella won), but the WWE is going to promote whatever streak they want to promote in their terms, I guess.
I don't really care that it's obvious their team is going to win, though. The finals highly likely seem to be Team Awe-suka versus The Robe Warriors, so Asuka vs. Charlotte will make it worthwhile as a sneak peek.

I got sick of this guy's writing pretty quickly so only scanned it, but people talk way too much about Asuka's (and Shinsuke's) talking. Are they ever going to be cutting Mick Foley esque promos? No, but who cares? Asuka's already over enough that it doesn't really matter. I'm sure she'll continue to get better with practice but she's fine right now because she's got more than enough natural charisma that it's more than enough to compensate for her lack of finesse on the stick. We already know that charisma easily trumps mic skill in terms of importance - just look at Lita.

We already know that charisma easily trumps mic skill in terms of importance - just look at Lita. Curious, why did you not like the guys writing? Or did you not like the things he was saying? Lack of finesse on the stick is how you could describe Bret Hart, not Asuka. Watching Asuka on the mic is like watching a train wreck. I hadn't actually watched the recent smackdown, and so I did. Watching Asuka on the mic is like watching someone who is trying to sell the main event of your local house show, not wrestlemania. She is in the middle of a seemingly serious call out from Charlotte, and she includes some weird dancing thing? That is not natural charisma. And that is not a language barrier situation, she acts in manners inappropriate for the situation and thus makes confrontation situations on tv awkward.

I think the entire thing is past it's used by date. And the only person who might benefit from it, is the, hopefully, the up and comer that beats her.
